This is what Utsuro, a sixteen-year-old boy, has been thinking about in his hidden village deep in the mountains.
Abandoned by his parents, Utsuro and another boy of the same age and condition, Akuta, are raised by the assassin, Kyogetsu Nigarashi, and lead a harsh but happy life.
One night, mysterious bandits attack their village, and Kyogetsu and Akuta risk their lives to free Utsuro.
However, he comes across Maoh-Zakura(a cherry blossom of demon king), the ruler of the other world, which is said to bloom on the border between this world and the next.
Utsuro is imbued with a unique ability called "Altra" by Mao-Zakura.
