Dusk's End, in the Shadowlands of Tartarus. Home to demons, beasts, and outcasts, it is a place where the empty and wretched gather. Nothing grows there, not even the seeds of hope. If you're strong, you live. If you're weak, you become food for the strong.

A human child has no place there. And yet, there is No One.

No One rots in that pit, staring up at the perpetually darkened sky and thinking of the worlds just beyond her reach. As hunger and disease seize her and she waits for death at the gates of Tartarus, salvation comes in the form of demons, and she awakens in a life she never imagined possible, in service to the demons' master.

How miraculous, for No One, who was meant to have no happiness at all, to now be given so many?

What future awaits her, in the castle in the Shadowlands where the light doesn't reach?
