The Arcanist and the Shogun: The Lonely Earth and the Magitek world of Xarazanth

Takeda Saren Akane is notable for two things, being half-Irish in Japan and being kind of feisty at her IT job. But the absorption of the entire planet Earth onto the magitek fantasy world of Xarazanth may give her far more excitement than she bargained for.

As the Earth is brought onto the far larger planet across a stretch of ocean after the cosmos seems to swallow the world itself, she finds a mysterious, deeply eccentric boy in her room who seems a few tools short of a kit. For one thing, he claims to be an Arcanist, for another thing, he has pointed ears, and a third thing, he seems to have already expected this entire conversation.

But the boy speaks of a place that feels familiar to her in a way she can barely describe. The Sundered lands, a vast subcontinent the size of Eurasia that despite many elements of shared heritage, have never been unified, not for long anyway. Not in the face of its many enigmas and monsters. But perhaps a Takeda can be shogun after all.

Why isekai only one person when you can isekai the entire planet? Especially since fantasy worlds tend to be much larger than Earth. And magitek is such an underutilized aesthetic and vibe for fantasy, so why not diverge a bit from the usual late medievalisms?

And of course, unfortunately, Otome Isekai is a rather underexplored field mostly occupied by indie Manhwas that follow a very different set of tropes than is associated with either genre on its own. They're fine works, but sometimes what the world wants to see is a young lady unifying shattered nations and collecting cute boys and clever girls to make a part of a world ravaged by war, monsters, and the clashes of the many magics and archons a place that can be a beacon of hope. Also did I mention cute boys?

But Takeda is no damsel in distress. She's more than just a direct descendant of Takeda Shingen or a "moderate" tomboy who considers Samus Aran her idol. She's going to leap at the chance for adventure headfirst.
