A “slumber” is someone who is paid to sleep. In the near future, a drug known as “somnus” has made the 5th Industrial Revolution possible. The astonishing substance gives the user all the benefits of a full night’s rest with just one pill. Society is now sleepless. No one sleeps. No one dreams. No one remembers life before somnus.
