I wanted to go to school like everyone else, at least for my final year. I've been home schooled up until now, but now that I've been accepted into a school of the gifted, I can't be more excited.

When our brains are formed, neurons are connected to many other neurons before these connections are pruned back to form a "normal" functioning brain. For a select few, this process doesn't work perfectly, leaving connections between unexpected areas of the brain, causing a condition called synesthesia. Usually this causes the ability to see sound, or hear color, however for me it is more severe. My link between my hearing center, amygdala, and visual centers means I constantly hallucinate and must always be listening to music, else my baser instinct takes over.

I'm sure you can understand why it's been difficult for me to be in school so far, but I had no idea what I had in store for me.
