'Synth;esthesia' was initially inspired by the noir-detective elements in the 'Blade Runner' films and the morality of augmentations within the lore of the 'Deus Ex' game franchise. As I kept on writing, my story stayed clear of the generalized aesthetic-driven themes present in contemporary Cyberpunk media today.
