Once upon a time, in a land far, far away, there was a girl in a red hood who went by the name of Lucy Starling, living a turbulent life with her abusive hunter father.

One day, when she was out delivering food to her sickly, senile grandmother who lived deep within the woods, Lucy experienced an unexpected encounter with a starving wolf. Little did she know, it was this encounter that would forever change her perception of the world, of who she and the people around her were, and it would lead her to a destiny she could never have foreseen…
