Hikaru is basically the embodiment of every conspiracy theorist cranked up to 100%—he breathes UFOs and thinks of nothing else. That level of dedication takes real commitment.
And yeah, the transfer student scene is such a classic anime cliché that even the characters in the novel are aware of it. I added it on purpose for that dramatic comic effect—sometimes, you just have to lean into the absurdity! 😅
