It looks like everyone wants Shinji to die asap... 😂😂
I believe that if Shinji had to wait more than a minute they would've probably used his dagger or any knife that was there..
Knives aren't like guns, they have different uses other than committing crimes and harming people.
So, it is safe to assume that they had knives.
But since they captured him for a short period they didn't have the time to use it.
Not to mention that Shinji would definitely try to resist them...
In the end whether they used a weapon or not, help was going to arrive very soon.
