Fair enough.

I made the MC feel despair since he thought there was no way out of joining a club. However, since there was the slightest chance of getting out of joining, he was more than confident in his escape skills to make it out somehow.

But who knows? Maybe I would've changed that line if I had revised the story a few more times. That's the joy of storytelling and knowing when to stop. I'm glad you're enjoying it so far!
