Icey firstly I want to thank you because this means the world to me, and the fact that you took your time to type this up just to help me is something I appreciate, but I also feel really bad because you had to go through all this trouble 🙁
Secondly, I realise now how important it is for me to read 'The Hero's Journey' I see now that it will help me achieve my full potential when it comes to writing, of course, I get a bit nervous sometimes which also impacts my decisions on what to include and what to write.
Thirdly, you're right I tend to base the main character on what I would like to be, a strong girl who doesn't need anyone's approval to do what she wants, who isn't a people-pleaser, I guess that's the only way I'm able to express myself. 😅 But I guess you're right, and for the record, I would much rather you be yourself than be like Kazuki, who let's face it needs to chill out a little bit before he gets himself into something he can't get out of 😂
And you're right life doesn't work like that, friendships don't work like that, and neither does love, but sometimes I like to pretend it does which I guess reflects in my writing too 😅
I guess the point I'm trying to make is that I will keep everything you have said in mind and I'm going to try even harder next time, but after I've read the book, I think I need to take a break and reflect on a few things before I start again 😅 (but the first thing I will be doing is purchasing that book).
But I am really looking forward to reading your story if you decide to write in the contest, (I really hope you will) p.s. I would love to read your first novel, you're a great writer, Icey, and this feedback you gave as well as your book is evidence of that 😊 I really hope you do enter the competition and write again and we obviously won't enter as rivals but we can enter as friends right? So, for that reason, I hope you'll consider 😊
