I'm glad that the aspect of kpop agencies being a cog in an ultimately kind of exploitative system came through; a lot of the first drafts of the story ended with Harua's group disbanding and that depressed me so bad I almost gave up on the story lmao. I think I erred too hard on being faithful to reality that also kind of ended up bringing up the other issues you pointed out, namely that Ren seems to only exist in service to the plot and felt weaker than the rest. I retconned some interactions to be less about him and his relationship with the industry and to be more about him using them as a way to connect with her, so hopefully he reads closer to my vision now than he used to. I had to scrap a few scenes that fleshed out their chemistry more, I wish I had time to do them justice 😭
Harua and Yuta,,,,,I'm a boring basic bitch I genuinely just see Yuta having a boring isekai MC design and Harua having kpop style dyed red hair and a bunch of piercings like a colorful tropical bird 😭 the contrast of it just is funny to me. They def deserve their own spinoff and they'll just completely outshine Hakaze and Ren I fear,,,
