He would certainly have been a lot worse. Him leeching off her power to grow his stats is what made him so strong in the first place, too, so who knows how things would have been had the Hero been forced to adventure on his own.

Anno would not have been half the man he is without her whipping into shape. He's still got that haughty streak, but it's at least being directed toward a noble cause.

As for Dietrich, I'm so happy that I remembered that the Demon King could invade dreams, it allowed me to build up the foil between the two. It also give me the chance to have the Hero interact with our protagonists so he was less a force of nature and more of a proper antagonist. I'm glad you liked it!

Yeah, Ulrich doesn't care about status much. Doesn't matter if it's the Goddess herself, he'll have the same blasé attitude.

And Hide's one of my favorites to write! She's all eloquence until something doesn't go her way, and then her true self emerges. It's a trope as old as it gets, but it never ceases to be funny to me.
