A battered nobody wanders the wastelands alone. It wields a worn pen and wears a suit of scrap laptops as it attempts to collect reads. Endless critters spring from the sand traps to siphon inky blood from a wavering body. An army of robots flood the wasteland with generated prose. There are no friends, no allies, no comforts, no supports, few resources, and little time. There is only ability and words. Will it be enough to tell a good story?

Thank you for time investment and reading up to here. I appreciate it.

I tried to create a world that wasn't the same style of every other isekai I've seen in manga, books, and anime. But I think this is an isekai in spirit and definition. To claim that it somehow isn't isekai in spirit strikes me as absurd.

What exactly disqualifies it as an isekai? I needed to digest your points.

First point was a lack of focus on the central character in some chapters. I like to show things that are tangentially related. Maybe that is a writing flaw. It might be a failure in execution. I do it anyway. It's a valid reason not to like my style. Maybe it's not working with most readers and I need to evaluate my writing habits. But I see no relation to this point and it not being isekai.

Second point was the world is not isekai type. What specifically bars the world from being an isekai world? Is it that I went for modern tech and fantasy mix? I thought I'd get points for originality, but maybe I overreached.

Third was that regular tropes are missing? What tropes exactly? Does every isekai have a world building and setting requirement that I don't know of? Does it need ancient dungeons, an adventure guild, party formations, medieval type world, a hero defeating a demon lord? Are these tropes absolutely required for something to be an isekai?

So, while this is certainly a failed project. I don't yet agree that it violates the spirit of isekai. I think it's fine in that department. It's an isekai in spirit and definition.
