Thanks for taking time to comment!
I wrote the first draft under NaNoWriMo conditions: I sat down on the 1st November at exactly 9am with no plot whatsoever, no planning and with just a loose idea of writing about a blue-haired heroine because I always considered them to be a bit of a weak point in anime and didn't really dig them (Rem being the exception, but sadly she was put to sleep!). I finished it in ten days, which was just nuts. I just wrote. Sometimes I was in a complete daze.
The second draft was very difficult to do, that took seven weeks but I learned a lot from that. For me, a utopian future is a ridiculous concept looking at Earth in an even semi-realistically way, so grappling with all of that and having a love story that heated up quickly rather than gathering momentum was...quite a challenge.
After this, I wouldn't recommend having no plot whatsoever before beginning and flying by the seat of the pants, so to speak - and I'll never do it again - but the characters dictated the story to me, they became 'real' in my mind and I really had tons of fun writing it. It has a lot of imperfections granted, but: I gave it my all, I will improve - and I'm delighted that you enjoyed it.
