Thank you so much for reading all the way to the end! I'll be honest, I went in with a vague idea that the concept of martial honor (and whether there was a place for it in technological warfare) was gonna be a central theme. That's actually why I gravitated towards mechs, since they've historically been used to transplant an ideal of a chivalric warrior into a technological setting. I feel like the themes crept beyond that in the course of writing, but still kinda related idea of "honor", what it means to different people in different roles (a soldier vs a spy vs a political leader), and whether it's more dangerous to doggedly pursue or cynically ignore such an ideal. I don't know, though, I didn't necessarily have these things at the front of my mind while writing it. The literary analysis cap feels weird when you wear it into your own work after the fact.
