i see but the issue with this would be what would happen if the "chosen one" would ignore to act on this prophecy.
If we would exclude determinism and the possibility where chosen one needed to reject the prophecy in order to fulfill it would "chosen one" still be a "Chosen one" if they wouldn't act as one

Would someone who is not "chosen one" that decided to act as one became a "chosen one" ?

Yeah her is Bashar of Eldoria,,,you could translated this title as general or military commander. Actually everyone in the party is pretty prominent figure in the South

After fall of Tarnis ,South suffered huge hit to their morale so their quest to summon goddess was in big part a PR campaign to restore it. I think most of people in this world would be pretty skeptical about this idea but if some prominent figures backed it, it made this possibility more believable

I don't think that Selene or Uruk actually believed it will work and Karim probably was full of doubts, but their quest rekindled people's hopes that not everything was lost. But the party was pretty much sure that nothing will happen so they planed to go to Elam if it wouldn't work and live there as exiles so people at home could still believe in their quest.

Selene and Karim..that's complicated..actually they share the same core belief but it is big part of their faith to have your own interpretation of it...i think those differences come out here in more confrontational way because they are stressed and Tarnis is pretty hot topic for them

Right now Karim is struggling...he was holding on his faith in the face of the defeat they suffered and now he is at lost...goddess answered but didn't gave them what they asked for so he needs time to come to peace with what happened (their religion is purely faith based, they don't have any proof of their goddess existence)

Yeah communication...i think they got really shaken by everything and went into survival mood so it may be a while until they will be ready to talk. I generally avoid such monologues or any extended info dumps in my stories preferring to keep mystery instead
I don't think they have any idea what to do with Rina so i am not even sure what they could tell her
