Call me a nerd if you want; I don’t really care. I prefer observing over participating. Why? I don’t like people. Well… not exactly. I just avoid them, don’t like being seen. Though solitude can get unbearable sometimes. I crave something lighthearted. Like cherry blossoms— petals drifting in spring. I’ve read stories more than I’ve lived, so I thought—why not write my own? I like folktales, novels, poems… anything that lets me narrate a story instead of just exist. Sometimes it makes me feel like an NPC. Even in my own life. Nice to meet you, I guess.

Mathew lives in the Cotswolds with his fiancé and their pet cat. When he’s not writing, he’s usually watching anime, nerding out over Pokémon, or playing football. He has a PhD in Creative Writing, and his short stories and poetry have appeared in various literary magazines.
