The forest is more of a region on it's own and the reason why no habitat can leave there is because of the animals been affected and evolved by the mist
It is based off from Australia so it's nobody can leave there apart from those who embraced the mist who believes the mist is the way to earth salvation (the truth Bringer and his cult) well more will be explained as more chapters comes I'm sorry if you are confused right now 😭😭
