I like your writing style. Not sure if you address this later in the novel, but I’ve toyed with a similar idea, until I learned that 50-80% of the worlds oxygen is produced by marine phototrophs, prolly a little late to be sharing that info lol will keep reading tho, it’s def still an interesting concept poetically
