I assume his nephew is 'Pliny the Younger'?
Admittedly, I don't know as much about the time period as others, but the narrative does give the impression of being a 'period piece' in style and tone, I guess?
It reminds me of 'His Soul is Marching on to Another World' - an isekai where another historical figure gets isekai'd.

I did not know that Pliny the Elder died during the whole Pompeii episode. Curious. Anyway, it's definitely a very interesting premise and I'll be sure to check out the rest :)

I find these first few chapters to be a nice intro to an isekai world. I also find it to be an excellent use of present tense.

Dueling perspectives in the same chapter is bold, yes, though with a scene break it's pretty seamless and I think most readers will be able to get what's happening.

There's always different layers of 'genre blindness' regarding how many previous isekai-related media a protagonist has seen. Diane not knowing what magic is or not expecting it to exist in new world reminds me of how in zombie movies protagonists seldom have knowledge of previous zombie tropes.

Anyway, it's a pretty good start and I look forward to reading the rest :)

I mention it to another reader towards the end, but the reason Skott's from Omaha is because the Wizard from the Wizard of Oz is from Omaha (at least in the book).

Longer chapter than the guideance suggests. Alas, it gets everything down I wanted to do. Should be maybe 3 chapters left~

Ahem. Writing around a reunited married couple and, nebulously, 'all ages' guidelines could get risky. I think it's still 'For Everyone'. I could make it more ambiguous if anyone thinks it'll cause problems.

Beyond that, we're past the 50,000 word mark. I do hope to have a few last plot threads cleaned up and then get a lighthearted epilogue out within the next few days. Definitely be done by the deadline ;) Stay tuned~~~

Whew. Got this one posted today juuuust a bit before midnight.
Had to finish up a final read-through of an unrelated LitRPG, but should have a chapter a day from now until the story is done ;)

... might have to go back and edit 'CoopyCoins' to something else. I thought it was a Castle-Superbeast In-joke meant to symbolize the silliest thing you could call a cryptocurrency but it turns out there's an actual CoopyCoin in existence somewhere. Lol.
