I liked it so far! Good introduction, if I were to nitpick something would be that it moves to quick from the moment we get introduced to the character to the mansion.
That and Haruki's first impression like if he doesn't know about the mansion rumours but then acknowledging people died in there.

So far I liked looking forward to how things are gonna go from now on

I'm on a place where I find dialogue and monologues more interesting than describing the world around unless is stricktly needed to. I prefer to give a basic description, almost vague of the places (a house, period. For example) and leave to readers to imagine how it look.
But that also might be a subtle way toshooting myself in the foot, I guess is kinda subjective at the end of the day.

Loved the opening monologue 'children are taught that lying is bad. Maybe we mean: it's inconvenient.'
Damn that's a good line.
