It reminds me of the short story "The Yellow Wallpaper" in the best way. Awesome. That final sentence is terrifying, like the kiss of Death.

Even the formatting is thoughtful. The italics convey a fluid-thought narration, and it really puts the reader in the narrator's perspective. I love the warnings and detailed descriptions!

Nice chapter, I like a good sibling dynamic! Miyu is complicated, and I appreciate that. Here are some things I've observed about her based on this chapter: she's cynical, a little homophobic, a little misogynistic, and has a troublesome superiority complex. I can't tell if the homophobia and misogyny is written intentionally for her in this chapter, I had to go back and assess it multiple times—if it is intentional and there's character development coming up for her, I really look forward to it. I'm not sure if the reader is meant to like Miyu, as it stands right now. She's definitely different (has more character) than most second MCs, and I like that. Good work, Chris!

I'm loving Sato-kun's narration! He's self-aware and hilarious. I can't wait to learn more about Watanabe-san as a person, too. I know that Sato-kun thinks a person is beautiful because of who they are, not how they look, so I know it'll happen; I was a little sad that "all of that changed" once he saw Watanabe-san. I know he'll still care about her as an individual, though—this is just the second chapter. Great job, Chris! I'm looking forward to reading more.
