Yea, this three chapter is lean heavily into action. But its intentional because this is the team first fight and i want to show how Diva works and fight before going into their lifes.
(tbf, i want to start with a boom)

But you are right, readers needs to know why they matter. And so. all their purpose, weight will be shown one by one, little by little as the story progress. This is but a setup, not the reward.

Hopefully the coming chapters will let you feel the character more and why they fight. because i agree with you, and i will do my best to show you why they are there in the first place, in the frontline against CODA.

This style is intentional (despite i calling it a gamble). I want to show the reader that the events,dates, and time that leading to the fall of Japan in the main "Blessing of Diva" storyline on a national scale, not just around the character..

What i am doing here is something like, we as the readers are reading a "Final Countdown"-ish style. Every date and time on each chapter, is selected purposefully as a narraction device.

In conclusion, what i am trying to do here is showing what is happening in real time, because the date, and the time, are all part of the narration that will affect the story as it goes. As this "Resonance Zero", is just the beginning of the End. My story will also end with this style, which will kickstart the main storyline, but that main storyline? will be your usual novel style. not this.
(So i intend to make this as special as i can, while at the same time making it works.)

If i dont see the title, i will think this is a normal reporter/journalist story about how she get her scoop. But with the name magical girl...(i havent read the next chapter), i will have to guess the 3rd person is the killer. Guess time to see if i am right or wrong. (still trying to warp my head around the name thing, thats just me) Not bad for an opening. Easy to understand and straight to point.
