Thanks for taking the time to read and comment. Like I said to znf, there's only so much room due to the contest requirements so I can certainly see how some people might find the pacing too fast in that regard. Hopefully some other perspectives can come in and there can be some discussion on the material. I'd comment further, but like I said, I don't wish to color anyone's perspective of the work with my intent while the contest is running.

First off, welcome to the site and congrats on putting yourself out there for this contest! It takes real guts to do that. I'm not entirely in agreement with znf, I've read quite a few of these and yours was easier to read than some. However, they do raise some fair points. A little more depth, considering what your story is about, would have been appreciated. All the same, I did enjoy it overall.

I see that you're new and trying your hand at the contest, nice! I know it takes a lot of guts to put yourself out there and have a bunch of strangers read your work. Thankfully, for all the metaphorical chain-based stories I've read today, yours has been the best. It's still not really my style--but good job! Best of luck on the contest :)

Did you draw it yourself? I'll admit that this story was a bit too purple for my taste, but I understand and respect the message.

I see you're new to this site, and possibly newer to writing as well. Congrats on taking a chance on the contest and putting yourself out there. I liked the idea of this old house you've presented but wasn't able to fully engage with the narrative. Some finer editing and honing in on your message would have helped with this. Still, it takes guts to publish your work for strangers to see so mad respect.

In any case, it's not what I expected to see from a contest entry in terms of story. Keep writing and have fun!

I'm normally a bit more detailed in what I write. People are going to interpret this in different ways, of course, but I won't defend my choices in fear of painting anyone's opinions during the contest period. My only real complaint is "Eh, sure, whatever" didn't always fit as a response, or at least one that people would always accept, in the situations you presented. I totally get why you used it though and the repetition of the phrase is excellent.

I likely am the one you are referring to except the reviews you read were actually from a contributor of mine, Jacob. He does most of the live-action content on the site (though I do some). I'm sure he'll be very happy to hear how much you've enjoyed his reviews so far.
