Dear lord, that ending was bittersweet! For so many years, Dritan fixated on Lindita, but she had already moved on, for her time on Earth was far shorter compared to his. I respect Dritan for not forcing a reunion when the women he obsessed over had already built a life for herself. Your exploration of systemic injustice enforced by the vampires and how said system affects not only the lives of the humans but the vampires it is meant to benefit was very thoughtful and hard-hitting. You do not sugarcoat the outcomes of a what could happen in a pretty sad setting, and I admire that. Great entry!

Straight to Commander from the get-go. Attaboy, Dritan! The motif of the blue-lettered word "Pending" throughout this chapter was a creative way to mark the passage of time as Dritan waited to join the Blood Guard. Part of me wants him to succeed for putting in so much time and effort into seeing Donor 1272 again, but I fear that Dritan's infatuation might spell disaster.

Even the Draculas need marriage counseling . I love the fact that this whole story was put in motion by the couple's need for novelty. Their love transcends even time itself, and that's very romantic. Also, the casual mention of how Dracula and his wife time traveled is mind-blowing. These two vampires are so overpowered, but they use their abilities to spice up their marriage. This was a surprisingly sweet entry that was fun to follow through each of its twists and turns!

Your skillfulness with plot twists is ever evident in this chapter. I half-expected the twist with John, but him actually being Dracula??!! That certainly complicates things between him and Vanessa lol. Also, Lady Dracula's skin being as pale as porcelain reminded me of Silvi for a moment.

It was nice seeing Dritan become more present in his world and curious about others, particularly Fatmir. There is definitely tension between Dritan and his father, and I can only imagine how much further 1272 will complicate the MC's family dynamics haha.

I'm very curious about this John Doe. Already, there are very big red flags surrounding that man, and I wonder if Vanessa doesn't notice them, or she's just pretending to not notice. Also, the wine glass of blood is so vampire-coded and I love it

The clinical setting of the story is cleverly contrasted by the sudden act of disobedience by Donor 1272. I think you have a great way of describing the intimate details of this very peculiar interaction between Dritan and the donor. Interesting start!

Yes, yes, yes! So many awesome things in a single chapter!

First, I really like the alliteration in Vanessa Van Helsing's name.

Second, you quickly establish the team's dynamic in a way that feels natural, and the body count exchange between Grodd and Sheira was full of wit.

Finally, the line "something older moved with the bowstring" was an excellent piece of prose! It highlights the familial legacy Vanessa carries in her technique, and I'm a sucker for multi-generational conflicts in stories.
