Chapters 673 and 674: Ronzic Fills Out His Staff Part 1 – Slave Director – Yotson. and Part 2 – Punishment Director – Soga

Author's Comment: I'm posting these 2 chapters together as one posting. I figured it made more sense to bundle these backstory chapters together.

Chapter 673: Ronzic Fills Out His Staff Part 1 – Slave Director – Yotson

Narrator: One day after Ronzic had finished conquering the light divine beings.

Ronzic meets with Laura and Biff in his personal room. Laura and Biff sit on the couch while Ronzic paces around that room.

Ronzic puts his right hand up to his chin with a serious expression on his face. “We have locked up all of the pieces of light trash. As pathetic as they are, they would make good bodies for labor. Yet, I do not have the time to look over all of them myself…”

Laura raises a finger as she begins to reply. “You could hire someone to do that. I’m sure there is someone qualified for it out there.”

Biff looks at Laura. “I could do it, you know?”

Ronzic continues pacing. “No, I don’t think something like that is your strength, Biff. I need someone with good intellectuals and a strong sense of direction and drive.”

Biff replies in a sad tone. “You didn’t have to be so blunt…”

Laura smiles. “You could let everyone know and then interview candidates.”

Ronzic stops pacing and looks at Laura and responds with a calm yet pleased tone. “Yes, that is a very good idea.”

Narrator: Later that day.

Ronzic stands at a lectern in a massive room that had hundreds of dark divine beings and demons gathered at. He begins speaking to the audience. “As you all know, we have defeated the light beings and captured those that we did not kill in battle. As repulsive as they are, they can make for good labor. It’s at this time that I am looking for someone to become our Slave Director. We will be handing out flyers that contain more details. The flyer will include how to apply for the position. Once we have a fair number of applicants, we shall begin the interviews.”

In the audience, Yotson stands and rubs his chin as he thinks to himself. (“I could do this. I’m confident in my leadership qualities.”)

Narrator: Within 5 days, Ronzic had gained enough applicants to begin the interview process. All interviews would take place in Ronzic’s personal room.

Narrator: Candidate #1

Ronzic sits on his personal couch while candidate #1 sits on a single-seat cushioned chair facing him. Candidate #1 is a male dark divine being with upper-back length black hair.

Ronzic looks at candidate #1 directly in the eyes. “Tell me why I should hire you for this position.”

Candidate #1 smiles and nods. “I have a lot of experience telling my siblings what to do. I have no doubt in my mind that would also translate well to directing slaves around. In fact, I quite look forward to it.”

Ronzic squints his eyes as he replies with an unimpressed tone. “What else?”

Candidate #1 begins scratching his head as he panics a bit. “W-What d-do you mean? Is th-that not enough?”

Ronzic shakes his head in disappointment.

Narrator: Candidate #2

Candidate #2 is a male dark divine being that has gelled-back black hair. He looks a little woozy.

Ronzic looks Candidate #2 straight in the eyes. “Tell me why I should hire you for this position.”

Candidate #2 can’t even focus on Ronzic as he responds in a drunken manner. “Wha—? Huh? Potion? The only potion I need is booze…” Candidate #2 pulls out a small bear can from his pocket and opens it. He looks up and starts pouring the beer down into his mouth.

Ronzic shakes his head in disappointment.

Narrator: Candidate #3

Candidate #3 is a female dark divine being that has short black hair.

Ronzic looks Candidate #3 directly in the eyes. “Tell me why I should hire you for this position.”

Candidate #3 smiles. “I will put those light beings in their place. You can rest assured that I will not let them slack off.”

Ronzic nods. “Very good.”

Outside of the room, Yotson sits on a seat while he waits for his turn. His eyes are wide open as he darts his look from side to side. He can overhear what is being said in Candidate #3’s interview. He hears Ronzic continue his response.

“Now, tell me about any prior leadership experience that you may have.”

Yotson overhears Candidate #3’s response.

“Well, you see, it’s less that I have experience with this and more that I have desire and ambition. I will make sure I do my job properly. I won’t talk back to you. Whatever you wish for me to have them do… well, consider it done.”

Back in the room, Ronzic looks at Candidate #3 with a serious expression. “That is problematic.”

Candidate #3 opens her eyes wide. “Huh? Why!?”

Ronzic replies disapprovingly. “I would be hiring you to direct the slaves. What you said is that you would have them do everything I tell you to have them do. That’s the problem. It would be your job to already know what they need to do. Otherwise, I might as well just tend to them myself. You have no experience in leadership and you would need to constantly be told what the slaves should be doing. I apologize but I don’t think you are the one I’m looking for.”

Candidate #3 looks down at the floor in disappointment.

Narrator: Candidate #4 – Yotson

Ronzic looks Yotson directly in the eyes. “Tell me why I should hire you for this position.”

Yotson focuses with a serious expression. “During our conflict with the light beings, I lived in areas close to them so I have had many close encounters with them. I know how they think and act. I know what they like and don’t like. I will be able to use the knowledge I have gained to properly give them orders to fulfill the goals that I will set for them. They will work and they will work hard. I will make sure they get it done.”

Ronzic opens his eyes wide with an impressed expression. “That is very good. Do you have real leadership experience?”

Yotson confidently replies, “Yes, I do. Since I lived in an area close to the light beings, I had to ensure all of our fellow dark divine beings knew what to do in a situation that we would engage in open combat against them.”

Ronzic closes his eyes for a moment as he grins. “No red flags so far. Two questions in and I already feel you are perfect for the job. I don’t think I even need to ask further questions. I’m going to hire you right now.” He holds out his hand.

Yotson reaches out to Ronzic’s hand for a handshake. Yotson smiles as he replies. “Thank you, sir.”

Narrator: A day later, Yotson was officially hired to be the Slave Director and now he has been brought in to meet the captured light divine beings.

Yotson stands and looks around at every prison cell at the captured light divine beings before he begins speaking. “Allow me to introduce myself. I am Yotson and I will be the Slave Director that will be putting all of you on the path to helping us achieve our goals.”

All of the light divine beings begin to groan.

Yotson begins speak over their groans until they quiet down. “If you fully cooperate, you will be allowed to continue living. You will not be physically attacked and you will be fed. Your work will begin after Lord Ronzic has hired a Punishment Director that will handle those of you who are disobedient. I will see you all then. Don’t disappoint.”

Yotson begins to walk out of the room as the light divine beings look down in sadness, knowing what their lives are about to become.

Narrator: Yotson was the first key piece of Ronzic’s staff. There’s still Sogs, but who are the others?

Chapter 674: Ronzic Fills Out His Staff Part 2 – Punishment Director – Soga

Narrator: The day after Yotson was hired to be the Slave Director.

Ronzic meets with Laura and Biff in his personal room. He paces around the room. “So now I have someone who can direct the slaves, but now I need someone who can punish the slaves when they do not work properly.”

Laura holds up her index finger as she replies. “Do the same thing that you did before. Put out some flyers. I’m sure there is someone out there that is fit for the job.”

Biff nods. “You don’t even need to look. I can punish slaves just fine.”

Ronzic shakes his head. “Sorry, Biff, but I don’t think you have that expertise. There is more to punishing than just physically hitting someone.”

Biff frowns. “Again; you don’t have to be so blunt about it.”

Narrator: After receiving numerous applications, Laura goes through them.

Laura sits at a desk and starts flipping through various applications. “Yes… Emhm… I see… That’s nice…”

Eventually, she stops at one that she begins intensely focusing on. “Woah. This person must sure be a sadist…!”

Narrator: The next day, Ronzic begins interviews in his personal room. Candidate #1 – Soga.

Soga sits across from Ronzic while he looks at her application.

Looking over the application, Ronzic sees various drawings of torture being performed on non-specific people. “I see that you are… very interested in torture. Tell me why I should hire you for this position.”

Soga cruelly smiles. “If you need someone to punish slaves, there is no one more qualified than me. I have spent my life studying, experimenting, and practicing both new and old torture methods. Torturing others brings me great joy!”

Ronzic nods and then replies. “So, what exactly made you like this?

Soga continues to sadistically smile and taps her forehead as she replies. “That’s just how I am. This stuff naturally interests me and I can turn that interest toward using it on people that I hate like the light diving beings. My close friend was killed by a light diving being and ever since then, I have had a never-ending desire to torture light divine beings. Just the thought of hearing their screams of agony fills me with great joy! Trust me… I will do anything to them as punishment. Nothing is beyond the line to me.”

Ronzic grins with satisfaction. “Yes, that is very good. You’re only the first candidate I have interviewed and yet I would say you are already the front runner for the job.”

Soga nods with a smile. “If you hire me, I won’t let you down. You won’t ever find anyone in this world or even galaxy that is more sadistic than me.”

Ronzic points at the exit. “I’m glad to hear it. You may leave so that I may continue my interviews.”

Narrator: The next day. Soga was officially hired for the position.

Soga meets with all of the locked-up light divine beings. She eyes all of the prisoners with a piercing glare in her eyes. “Hello, soon-to-be-slaves. My name is Soga and if any of you ever fail in your duties, you will be sent straight to me for some… correctional training.” She then licks her lips with excitement.

The slaves all frown at both her words and her expression.

A male light divine being finally speaks up. “Why do we have to do this!? Just let us go live somewhere else!”

Soga grits her teeth. “Quiet!! Every single one of you light beings are scum! You should be thankful that we are going to put you to good use instead of executing you!”

The male light divine being that spoke up looks down in disappointment.

Soga begins walking from left to right as she speaks again. “You see, I am expert at torture. If you misbehave or fail at your work, you will endure punishment so bad that you will wish that you were dead… but I won’t let you have that. You will continue to live while experiencing the worst pain you have ever felt and when I am done, you will be sent back out to work again. For my friend that you pieces of scum killed, I will not show mercy. You will experience everything that she felt and more.”

Soga begins heading for the exit of the room. She stops at the door to say some final words without looking back at them. “It will begin soon. Be ready for it…” She opens the door and walks out.

Narrator: Motivated by the loss of her friend, Soga was ready to be the Punishment Director and has been ever since.
