Chapter 678: Advantage of the Subconscious

Beyond The Stars

Chapter 678: Advantage of the Subconscious

Narrator: In the dark area town of Dusk’s subconscious.

Dusk: “That’s right! You attached a wire to my forehead! So, if that was not enough to fully control me, then that means two certainties…”

Dusk begins to smirk before he finishes his sentence.

Dusk: “…I’m stronger than you and my will is greater than yours.”

Tuck grits his teeth for a moment before responding.

Tuck: “You fail to understand who I am… My name is Tuck. I am Lord Ronzic’s Head Technician. That is not by accident. All of our hopes and dreams rely on my skills and power… And for that… I VOW TO CRUSH YOU!!!”

Tuck flings out his wires from both hands and attaches them to the walls of the stone buildings. He blasts his magic through the wires which causes the stone buildings to explode toward Dusk. Every piece of rubble that blasts into Dusk damages his subconscious self.

Before Dusk can recover himself from the damage, Tuck launches toward him and punches him in the face. Tuck begins rapidly punching Dusk all over his body.

As he takes the blows, Dusk begins thinking to himself.

Dusk: (Thinking) “I feel weird right now. Being in my own subconscious feels… different. I’m reminded of something. I was talking to Zeth and Sasha about their adventures and Zeth told me when his body was under the control of the Vampire of Origin, Kazan. They fought in his subconscious for control of the body. What was it that he said to me? It’s harder to think with this guy pounding me… Wait a moment! That’s it! I remember! Zeth said that in a battle in the subconscious, the host has the advantage! I can do more than I can in the real world!”

Dusk suddenly grabs ahold of both of Tuck’s fists to stop his punches. Tuck opens his eyes wide.

Tuck: “How!? You couldn’t do anything from my onslaught!”

Dusk smirks as he pushes Tuck’s fist to the side and then punches him hard in the face with enough force to blow him back, causing his body to ragdoll against the ground before coming to a stop lying face down.

Dusk: (Speaking confidently): “This is my subconscious. I have the advantage here. And you… are not welcome here!”

Tuck stands up with a lot of damage. He begins charging his magic.

Tuck: “You are nothing—!”

Dusk interrupts Tuck by vanishing and quickly reappearing at point-blank range followed by punching him in the gut, causing Tuck to cough multiple times in pain as he falls to his knees.

Dusk: “I already told you that I have the advantage here. You are weaker than me. That is all there is to it.”

Tuck grits his teeth while his veins start popping out more, his anger growing rapidly.

Tuck: “Shut up!!”

Tuck quickly stands back up and punches Dusk in the face, but it has no effect.

Dusk looks down on Tuck with a sharp frown, showing his disapproval.

Tuck’s anger quickly turns to fear as he looks up at Dusk with helplessness.

Dusk: “This is over.”

Dusk kicks Tuck hard in the chest, knocking him back. Dusk appears behind Tuck instantly and kicks him upward. Finally, Dusk appears in the air above Tuck and slams his fists down into Tuck’s body, blowing him down into a building, causing it to blow into pieces from the power of the impact.

Dusk lands back on the ground and looks down at Tuck.

Dusk: “Get out of my body.”

Narrator: Back in the real world.

Tuck stumbles backward as his wires disconnect from Dusk.

Tuck’s body shakes and his eyes lose focus as his fear overtakes him.

Tuck: “No! How did this happen!? How could I lose!?”

Dusk charges magic in his right hand as he looks at Tuck with a determined stare.

Dusk: “I will make this quick. You are not leaving here alive.”

Dusk dashes straight for Tuck and slams his fist straight into Tuck’s face. The punch blows Tuck back against a wall. Immediately after, he falls face-down onto the floor. His body becomes lifeless.

Dusk brushes his hands against each other a few times.

Dusk: (Speaking proudly) “Well, that takes care of that.”

However, a silhouette begins to enter the ship.

Narrator: Someone is coming aboard the ship! Who is it!?
