Chapter 8:
TV Head
March 15, 2015
Dear Diary,
I’m having less and less time to write in my diary! I fear that soon I won’t be able to write anymore because of how crazy things are getting! We're walking up a mountain right now, and I thought this would be a great time to make an entry. The hike to the spaceship is going to take forever.
So, things have been going well with Kar. We convinced Duncan to let her live with us, and he got the government to agree. It turns out that a GIANT UFO appeared in the forest at the same time Kar went bonkers.
Hold on, back up! I'm rambling again.
So, Kar. She keeps trying to sleep in my brother’s room instead of her own room. It’s very off-putting. Like, I know she likes him, but she just seems to have trouble understanding social boundaries.
Oh, and that's probably because she's not human (shocking, I know) but an alien. Sorry, I should be more clear. She's not from a different planet, timeline, another universe (which apparently there are several of), or even another dimension.
Apparently, she's from another "aliud." It's really confusing, so I'll make it as simple as I can. So, we all live in like a giant space tree. At the bottom of this space tree, there's a seed, and when it started to grow, that was the Big Bang.
It grew a trunk and then diverged into all these different branches. Those are apparently other timelines or parallel timelines. The tree grows in stages, and those are its different dimensions. If you go all the way down, it's dimension 0, aka the seed, then the first, second, and so on.
Even though my teacher TOLD me that we're in the third dimension, Kar says we're actually in the 3.5 dimension. We're affected by the fourth one but can't travel through it.
I hate science stuff, but that part I kinda got. It's the next part that's freaky.
So, our universe and all our timelines are on this tree. But there's not just one tree. Every universe has its own tree. And a bunch of trees together makes a forest. Each forest, made up of universes and their alternate timelines and dimensions together, is an "aliud."
SHE'S FROM A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT FOREST!
That part hurts my brain.
She came here to track down a kaijin from their world. They're these god-like beings made from wishes. They all have different objects in place of their heads.
Like Phil. Phil is one of these "kaijin." When she saw Phil, she wasn't sure if he was one or not, seeing how weird things get when you're hopping universes.
For all she knew, our universe had other planets full of people that look like that. But when she saw me and him work together, it triggered her instinct training, and her other side took over.
That's why she attacked us. Every kaijin has a wish maker that is in charge of them.
So that's me.
I'm the wish maker. I control his abilities, like a handler. I don't really like that thought. That day so long ago, when I wished Phil would come back—whatever happened to him that night put his soul in the other "aliud." Phil's soul actually heard me somehow and made it back to me.
I guess our bond was stronger than I thought.
It also means I'm partially to blame for why he looks this way and everything that's happened to him since. I know he doesn't feel that way.
But I still feel guilty for it. I didn't mean to. I made a wish to see my dead brother. Is that really so bad?
Anyway, she knows we aren’t the ones because the kaijin she's looking for is totally evil. We saved people, so it's not us. She thinks it was this other kaijin that took away Phil years ago since it has powerful portal powers. Plus, she's just here to track them down.
She's actually someone's pet, and she is supposed to report to her owner, Stratus. Well, his real name isn’t Stratus—that’s a fake name—but since no one can even pronounce those arrows and rectangles, we just went with Stratus.
It worries me that she's a pet, though. Is she an animal? If she's an animal and she's like us, then just how smart and powerful is this guy? Meeting us must be like if your pet dog brought his other dog friends to meet you. I'm actually kind of nervous.
That's whose spaceship Duncan saw and intercepted. We're on the way to meet them now. We weren’t allowed to see him until they were ready, which took months. Now, finally, we're going. It's super dangerous, though. If this guy can travel through time, he might change it too. I don't know.
He could do something crazy, like make it so we never existed or something.
We're taking a break near this waterfall, so I'm just going to put down this electric diary near our stuff. I PRAY that our stuff is watched properly by Duncan's new worker, Kevin. He better not lose our stuff.
I can't imagine what would happen if I lost my diary here in the woods and someone got to it!
Anyway, until next time.
