Chapter 686: Emily, Joe, Kurt, and Pearl vs Laura and Biff

Beyond The Stars

Narrator: Back to Emily, Joe, Kurt, and Pearl.

The four heroes head closer to the base.

Joe: (Speaking with satisfaction) “It was good to interrogate and beat that asshole into submission.”

Kurt: “It’s surprising that the Slave Director is not all that strong, at least compared to other adversaries we have faced in the past.”

Emily: “That, or we’ve just been getting too strong for most of our enemies.”

Pearl: “Now, we just need to find Ronzic’s most trusted followers so we can eliminate them.”

Joe: “What were their names again? Sorry, I was having too much fun beating up Yotson.”

Emily: “Their names are Laura and Biff.”

The heroes suddenly hear someone’s voice from above.

Female Voice: “Sounds like we’re being called for.”

Male Voice: “Allow us to oblige.”

Two people jump down from a high ledge of the base, and it’s quickly revealed that they are Laura and Biff.

Laura: (Speaking in a demanding tone) “Are you the ones that are responsible for all of this?”

Biff: (Speaking angrily) “Or are you just beneficiaries?”

Kurt smirks.

Kurt: “Maybe. Maybe not.”

Biff stomps the ground in anger.

Biff: “Don’t play dumb with us!”

Pearl steps forward as she looks at Laura and Biff with determination.

Pearl: “How about you answer my question? Are you two the ones known as Laura and Biff?”

Laura: “That’s who you are looking at. Now, answer me! Who is responsible for this!?”

Joe: (Speaking confidently) “It would appear to be our friends, but you won’t have to worry about them. We’re going to destroy you two right here and now.”

Biff: “Hmph! So, you dumped Yotson, big deal.”

Laura: “That’s right. The only dark divine being on this planet who surpasses us in power is Ronzic.”

Biff and Laura begin charging their magic.

The four heroes also begin charging their magic.

Emily: “If you think we’re pushovers, you will be in for a big surprise!”

Biff: “Let’s see how confident you are when you see this!”

Biff’s entire body begins massively bulking up. His muscle size more than doubles, first in his chest and back, second in his arms, and third in his legs. Upon bulking up, the upper part of his uniform no longer fits him and tears off.

Narrator: Biff’s Magic – Muscle Magic

Magical red lines begin to form in the air in front of Laura.

Narrator: Laura’s Magic – Laser Magic

Laura: “My Laser Magic will test if your reflexes are up to snuff.”

Biff: “And my Muscle Magic will test if your physical endurance is worth a damn.”

Pearl: “We’re not here to test. We’re here to put you down.”

Suddenly, Pearl is lacerated by four red lasers hitting the front side of her body one after the other.

Pearl: “Gah!”

Laura smiles.

Laura: “It looks like your reflexes aren’t too good.”

Joe rushes toward Laura as he yells, “And now you have left yourself wide open!”

Joe attempts to punch Laura with magic charged into his fist, but Biff steps in between them and easily blocks Joe’s punch with the palm of his hand. Joe opens his eyes wide in shock.

Joe: “That did nothing!?”

Biff: “Ha! Let me show you a real punch!”

Biff grabs Joe’s fist and then yanks Joe toward him. He uses his other fist to punch Joe directly in the face which knocks him far back in the distance and out of view.

Emily: “Joe!”

While Emily is distracted, Laura uses more lasers to lacerate her four times. She falls to one knee in pain.

Kurt flies high in the air.

Kurt: (Thinking) “I can’t say this for certain yet but it seems that Laura can only use up to four lasers at a time! She used that many on Pearl and then used that same number on Emily! Is there a recharge time!? If so, I must take advantage of it!”

Biff: “Laura, the winged one flew up high!”

Laura: “I’m aware. Keep your focus on the ground ones.”

After Pearl fights off the pain from the lasers, she focuses on Biff. Sharp crystals emerge from the ground at a diagonal angle right behind Biff, piercing him in the back.

Biff: “Agk!”

Laura shoots four more lasers at Pearl. She is able to dodge the first laser but still gets hit by the other three, tripping her up in the process. She falls to the ground.

Biff: “It was you that did that!!”

Biff begins rushing toward Pearl.

Up in the sky, Kurt begins dive bombing down toward Laura.

Kurt: (Thinking) “She used four lasers! Now’s my chance!” Aura Drill!”

Kurt forms his powerful aura-made drill as he flies down toward Laura at a fast speed.

While that happens, Biff’s rush toward Pearl is stopped when Emily shoots him with her powerful magic-channeled shotgun. The shotgun blast creates many small wounds on the side of Biff’s body.

Emily: “Over here, you bodybuilding reject!”

Biff looks over at Emily with anger.

Meanwhile, Laura looks up at Kurt, who continues to dive bomb toward her.

Kurt: (Thinking) “I’ve got her!”

Laura smirks.

She shoots one laser up at Kurt, hitting him directly and ending his flight. He begins to fall to the ground as his attack dissipates

Laura chuckles.

Laura: “Did you think you had me figured out?”

She jumps up toward Kurt’s falling body and uses her right leg to slam her foot down into Kurt’s body, causing him to be knocked down to the ground hard.

Meanwhile, Biff starts rushing toward Emily, who puts her shotgun away and pulls out her Shadow Sword. As Biff gets close, Emily takes one step forward with her sword ready. She then slashes Biff with it, causing a long slash wound across his abdomen. However, he does not lose any momentum and pounds Emily in the gut, causing her to cough up a lot of blood as she is knocked back. She also loses her grip on the Shadow Sword, allowing Biff to grab it. Biff looks at it with admiration.

Biff: “Heh. Fancy sword you got here. It looks dark divine in nature. I think I will take this.”

Pearl is attempting to stand up again but Biff notices and turns around to kick her back.

Biff: “You just wait your turn. I decided to deal with the weapon-wielding woman first.”

Emily coughs up more blood as she stands up.

Emily: “Give me my sword back…!”

Biff smiles as he does practice swings with the sword.

Biff: “Nah, I don’t think I will.”

Emily grits her teeth in anger.

Emily: “Then I will show you my ancestral power!”

Emily goes into her Supreme Ancestral Form, increasing her muscle mass and height just like Biff.

Biff is taken by surprise. He looks at Emily in awe.

Biff: “Wait, you have Muscle Magic too!?”
