Chapter 689: Zeth, Lavana, Dusk, and Herbigon vs Ronzic

Narrator: Inside the pyramid, the battle against Ronzic begins!

Zeth pushes himself off the wall and runs forward while forming a Star Shine Blast in his hand

Zeth: “Take this!”

Zeth releases the SSB up toward Ronzic.

Ronzic smirks. Ronzic: “Pointless.”

Ronzic drops through the platform and lands on the floor below but opens his eyes wide as he sees Zeth in the process of beginning a punch. At the last second, Ronzic drops through the ground floor.

Zeth can hear Ronzic’s voice coming from the floor.

Ronzic: “Close. But not close enough.”

Zeth: “Bastard…” (Now thinking) “His power is annoying. Is there some kind of pattern to where he can emerge from? Can he emerge from anywhere in the room at any time?”

Ronzic begins to emerge from the floor behind Zeth.

Lavana: “He’s behind you!!”

Zeth turns 180 degrees while doing a swiping kick. Ronzic goes back into the floor before the kick hits him.

Zeth: (Thinking) “This is very annoying!” (Now aloud) “Why don’t you stop being a coward and fight us directly? If you think you are so superior, you shouldn’t have to merge into the floor to fight us.”

Ronzic’s voice can be heard coming from the floor.

Ronzic: “It’s not that I fear you. It’s that I want you to know how hopeless fighting me really is.”

Zeth: “So, that’s it? You’re just going to keep using hit-and-run tactics?”

Herbie appears to be in deep thought. Lavana looks at him.

Lavana: “Do you have an idea? I don’t think I have seen you think this hard before.”

Herbie: (Thinking) “…He merges with the floor. Does that mean he goes into the floor, or does it mean he becomes a part of the floor? I’m able to plant seeds that can sprout from the floor… Could I perhaps force him out?”

Lavana: “Jeez. He must be thinking extremely hard.”

Dusk joins Zeth in the middle of the room.

Dusk: “If we can’t convince him to come out, then we will just have to force him out. Rotting Earthquake!!”

Dusk thrusts his right hand down onto the floor. Parts of the floor in front of him begin to shake and crack. However, before anything else can happen, Ronzic emerges from the floor in front of him at point-blank range. Ronzic punches him twice, then kicks him in the gut, and finally grabs him by the face and slams him to the floor.

This gives Zeth time to attack as he punches Ronzic hard on the side of his face, knocking him over to a wall. Zeth immediately releases a Star Shine Blast that hits Ronzic and creates an explosion. Once the smoke clears, Ronzic is nowhere to be found.

Zeth: “Damn, unless that attack vaporized him, he must have merged with the wall.” (Now thinking) “But still… his reaction to Dusk’s attack…”

Herbie continues to be in deep thought.

Herbie: (Thinking) “He felt threatened by Dusk’s attack and left himself open to Zeth’s attack. He really doesn’t want us messing with the floor… If we just make it so the floor is uninhabitable… That’s it!”

Herbie looks at Lavana.

Herbie: “I know what we have to do.”

Lavana: “So, you thought of something?”

Herbie: “Indeed, I did. I know how we can force him out of the floor.”

Zeth focuses on the wall but is taken by surprise when Ronzic emerges from the floor behind him and punches him in the back with a magic-powered punch. Zeth winces in pain. Ronzic continues his attack by grabbing Zeth’s shoulders and thrusting his knee into Zeth’s back, dealing more damage. Zeth attempts to retaliate by thrusting his elbow back but Ronzic sidesteps to dodge and then jumps while kicking Zeth in the head to knock him away on the floor. After finishing that attack, Ronzic merges back into the floor.

Zeth coughs a bit as he uses his hands to push himself off the floor and begin standing up.

Zeth: “I admit. You are strong… but you won’t be able to hide back in the floor for much longer.”

Ronzic’s voice can be heard from the floor.

Ronzic: “Your verbal threats are as empty as your physical ones.”

Lavana begins shouting from the end of the room.

Lavana: “Not so fast, my friend!”

Lavana begins releasing lava from her body down into a new small hole in the floor that Herbie’s new plant sprouted from.

Ronzic’s voice can be heard from the floor.

Ronzic: “And what exactly are you going to accomplish?”

Herbie smirks.

Herbie: “Just give it a moment, you cowardly bastard.”

In just a few moments, Ronzic’s screaming voice can be heard from the floor.

Ronzic: “Gaaaaahhhrrr!!”

Lavana: “Nice! It worked!”

Ronzic quickly emerges from the floor away from everyone else. His body has new wounds and a few burns all over.

Ronzic: *huff huff* “You will pay for that. I can promise you that!”

Zeth: “So, what exactly just happened?”

Herbie smiles proudly.

Herbie: “I used my plant sprouts to create an underground path all around this room and then Lavana poured her lava into the initial hole that then spread throughout the entire underside of the floor, resulting in Ronzic getting burned and having no choice but to abandon the floor.”

Zeth: “Great job!”

Dusk stands up.

Dusk: “I admit, planty boy, I’m impressed you could think of such a strategy.”

Herbie looks at Dusk with slight annoyance.

Herbie: “That feels like a backhanded compliment…”

Ronzic: “Enough! You want to see me fight out in the open!? Well then, you will get your wish!”

Narrator: Thanks to Herbie’s strategy, the heroes will get to fight Ronzic out in the open!
