Chapter 721: Tyrant Sasha’s Offer

The underground chamber is like a vertical cylinder, but with passageways leading outside of it. Bloody corpses cover the floor at the bottom of the cylinder where the heroes now find themselves. The webbing disintegrates, allowing the heroes to stand up and face Tyrant Sasha. She confidently grins at them.

“Welcome to this universe’s Earth,” she says with sinister confidence.

Zeth rubs his face, regaining his awareness after the bumpy ride through the portal. “What…?”

Tyrant Sasha glares at Zeth and Sasha. “So, these are goody-two-shoes versions of us.”

Sasha stands up, glaring back at Tyrant Sasha. “Why don’t you try making sense!? What did you mean by alternate universe!?”

Tyrant Sasha sinisterly giggles, amused by Sasha’s confusion. “It’s exactly as it sounds. For anyone you find in your world, you could potentially find an alternate counterpart in this world.”

Kurt stares at Tyrant Sasha in disbelief. “Alternate universes sound like something out of a fictional novel.”

Tyrant Sasha chuckles. “Before you stands Sasha from an alternate universe, and yet you are unsure if you believe it?”

Sasha grits her teeth. “So, you really are me?”

“Indeed,” Tyrant Sasha replies. “You will all die here… unless…

“Unless what?” Zeth asks, his anger building.

“Unless you side with me and Zeth,” Tyrant Sasha states. “Looking at you two, I can tell how strong you are. Join us, and we can burn the world together!”

Sasha snaps back. “We don’t even know what is going on, so why should we even consider joining you!?”

Tyrant Sasha smirks. “I won’t give out information so easily. I will kill anyone for Zeth, so I will tell you one more time: Join or die.”

Zeth and Sasha turn their heads to glance at each other and then nod. Turning their heads back toward Tyrant Sasha, they issue a joint statement. “We refuse your offer.”

Tyrant Sasha frowns. “Tsk. Tsk. I’m disappointed in you. I suppose this is where you all die.”

All of the heroes clench their fists, preparing for combat.

Tyrant Sasha spreads her arms out wide. “LIVE!!”

A wave of purple magic spreads out from her body, enveloping the entire room.

The heroes widen their eyes.

“What is she doing!?” Joe asks in a shout.

“Live!? I thought she wanted to kill us!?” Emily shouts.

Tyrant Sasha begins floating upward, heading to the top of the tall, cylinder-shaped room. As she floats, metal devices that look like bear traps emerge from the floor.

“Kill!” One of the traps yells.

“Am I hallucinating or did that spiky trap thing just talk!?” Herbie shouts.

“I’d like to call you an idiot, but I heard it too!” Dusk answers.

More traps emerge from the floor, all of which are covered in Tyrant Sasha’s purple magic energy.

Tyrant Sasha’s Magic – Trap Magic

Tyrant Sasha reaches the top floor of the tall cylinder room and looks down at the heroes. “None of you will survive this. These traps do not feel fear or pain. They will pursue you until you are dead. Good luck.”

She walks away, presumably exiting the room.

“Someone must protect Laila! She’s not a fighter!” Zeth urgently shouts.

A trap launches straight for Laila, attempting to chomp her. She widens her eyes. However, Lavana steps in front of her and pounds down on the trap, knocking it to the ground.

“Don’t worry, I’ve got you covered,” Lavana says with a confident grin.

Electrical wires emerge from holes in the walls and extend toward the heroes.

“Die!!” the electrical wires yell.

An electrical wire touches every hero. All of them are electrocuted except Joe, who covers his body in his lightning-based electricity.

The other heroes scream in pain and fall to their knees.

Panting, Zeth shouts, “Is Laila okay!?”

“Yes, I’m okay!” Laila shouts back.

Lavana, Dusk, and Herbie all surround her, having taken the electrical wire attacks themselves to protect her.

Panting, Dusk smiles confidently. “We’ve got this…” Panting again. “We won’t let anything hurt her.”

Joe charges up the lightning surrounding his body. “Let me deal with these nuisances!”

He releases a wave of lightning in all directions, blasting into the electrical wires and overpowering them. Overloaded with electrical energy, the wires burst.

Joe fist pumps with a grin. “Nice! That will teach you to mess with a lightning user!”

The success is short-lived as more traps emerge from the floor. In addition to there being more bear traps, there are also pure spikes, and these float.

Kurt grits his teeth. “Is there a limit to them? Perhaps I can fly upward and find a way to stop them.”

Emily points upward. “I’m not sure that’s a good idea.”

The heroes all look up and see spikes flying around, high up in the room.

“I guess that rules that out as an option,” Kurt laments.

Sasha clenches her fists. “When we get out of here and find her… me?... I’m going to tear her apart!”

Laila frowns as she stares at all of the traps. She thinks to herself. “I may not be a fighter… but perhaps my magic would be of use here.”

Having rejected Tyrant Sasha’s offer, the heroes find themselves up against her living traps! What could Laila’s magic be?
