Chapter 78:

Volume 3: Chapter 2: To Okinawa We Go! - Part 5

Nephalem

Kuriyama was at a loss. He had come to Okinawa with his master, so that they might locate Kumiho, destroy her, and rescue his younger sister. What he was doing instead was standing around while his master enjoyed some time on the beach with his bevy of beautiful women.

Master Orochi was leaning against a large lounge chair, wearing a pair of swim trunks and a hawaiin shirt. Surrounding him were the six women in his harem: Kumiko, Yatsuo, Hatsune, Inase, and the twins Maya and Mana. All of them were showing themselves off by wearing skimpy bikini… except for the twins, who wore traditional high school swimsuits for some reason.

He understood those two even less than he did everyone else.

“My Lord,” he began as a waitress came up, served Master Orochi a drink, and then winked at him as she left, “could you please enlighten me as to why we’re not searching for Kumiho? Locating the barrier shouldn’t take that long.”

“Why are you in such a rush?” asked Master Orochi. “There is no need to be so impatient, Kuriyama. We will eventually find Kumiho’s hideout. It’s inevitable. That is why we should take the time before hand to relax. You never know when you’ll get another chance to spend time in paradise, am I right?”

Kuriyama twitched at his master’s slothful attitude. He respected this man greatly for all the things he’d done for him, but there were times, like this, where Master Orochi just annoyed him.

“Oh. Kuriyama?” Master Orochi began.

“Yes, My Lord?”

“Could you order another round of Tokoyaki for my lovelies? We seem to be all out.”

Kuriyama twitched several times. A vein throbbed on his forehead, beating, pulsing to the beat of his annoyance. He wanted so badly to deck this man in the face, but he couldn’t. This was his master.

“Of course, My Lord,” he said. “I’ll be right back.”

“Excellent. We’ll be waiting.”

Withholding his annoyed grunt, Kuriyama wandered up to the tokoyaki vendor and requested six platters. Those girls ate quite a bit. It was better to order too much than too little.

As he was waiting for his order to get ready, loud shouting reached his ears.

“Hey! Stop yanking Jacob around everywhere! He’s not your plaything!”

Looking up, Kuriyama’s eyes widened as a lithe girl with dark skin and even darker hair raced across the boardwalk. She was gripping the hand of a boy, who stumbled along behind her as they ran. The girl turned her head. Familiar yellow eyes gazed at a redhead who was chasing her.

Kuro?

“Get back here, Yūgure!!” the redhead shouted.

Kuriyama watched the girl run off, disappearing as the boardwalk sloped downhill. He completely forgot about the Tokoyaki. Bolting up the stairs, he looked at where the trio had disappeared two. They were receding in the distance.

He followed them.
