Her Foolish Childhood Self

After the class ends, Fumiko books a taxi using an app in her smartphone. Her guardian, Nakamoto Fumiko, asked her to call home so that she can pick her up but Fumiko chose to not call her after imagining just how much attention she will get again. 

The distance between her school and home is not that far but Fumiko still wants to plays it safe after her experience this morning.

After the taxi arrives, she adjusts her glasses and look at the plate number.

She confirms from the plate number that it is the taxi she booked, then she goes inside the taxi.

Inside the taxi, she is typing her message to Shizuka through her smartphone.

However, the taxi suddenly stops. Fumiko looks at her front to see what happened.

It turns out that the taxi is trapped in traffic congestion.

(Is this area prone to traffic congestion at this hour? Ugh... walking home is faster at this rate.)

The driver suddenly talks while looking at his front.

"This is weird. This area has never been this congested before even at this hour."

"? Is that so..."

Right after Fumiko says that, she suddenly sees a winged tyrannosaurus-like creature is flying above the buildings. Both Fumiko and the driver are surprised looking at that.

"S- supernatural being!?"

The driver shouts that while looking at the flying creature.

"This is bad... Can we get out of here?"

"That would be difficult in this situation..."

The driver replies to Fumiko's question while looking at surrounding cars.

After few seconds of thinking, Fumiko brings out her 1000 yen note and gives it to the driver.

"I'm getting off here. You can keep the change!"

"W- wait!?"

The driver says that when Fumiko puts the money near him.

Fumiko then takes her bag and opens the car's door.

"Get away from here if things get too dangerous!"

She immediately closes the door after saying.

Since the road is already congested, she can easily moves around without getting a risk of being hit by vehicles.

As Fumiko tries to get away, she notices that the flying tyrannosaurus-like creature is getting closer to her position.

However, a rainbow pillar of light comes from the sky suddenly appears besides a tall building.

A giant man-like creature appears from the rainbow light. That giant man has red and gold skin and his eyes are like diamond with oval shape.

The giant man jumps and stops the flying creature's advance. The creature falls to the ground.

Thankfully there are no people at the area where the creature fell.

"Ohh! That is the Superhero Giga Vegandor!"

Fumiko is startled by some people shouting near her. Many people go outside of their car to see the Giant Man. Those who ride motorcycles stays on their vehicle to see the Superhero battling against the winged tyrannosaurus-like creature.

"Go! Beat that thing up!!!"

Some people leave quickly but many people stay and cheer on the Superhero who is battling against the Supernatural Being.

"W- what are you guys doing!? We need to get out of here!"

Fumiko tries to warn the people around here but not a single person pay attention to her.

"Hey!"

Fumiko tries to touch the shoulder of a middle-aged man who is cheering loudly. 

However, she suddenly remembers her childhood self who is cheering on the Superheroes she admires.

"Go! Father! Mother! You can do it!!!"

The child Fumiko shouts that while looking at a silver four-legged robot fighting against a giant dragon-like creature which 10 times bigger than the robot's size.

After remembering her childhood self, Fumiko ends up stopping her attempt on warning the people around her.

She grits her teeth and run away as far as possible from the battle between the Superhero and the Supernatural Being.

After around twenty minutes, Fumiko arrives in residential area. She is panting because she is tired from running while carrying her school bag.

(What the hell am I doing...)

She thinks that while looking down.

(They won't hear my voice. I should have known that all too well...)

She controls her breath and starts walking.

When she is walking, she remembers what she said to the taxi driver.

'Get away from here if things get too dangerous!'

"Sigh..."

(Who the hell do I think I am... trying to act like my action matters in that situation...)

She arrives at a certain big house with a gate right after thinking that.

She approaches the gate and takes off her glasses. She then looks closely at the scanner device.

The device scans Fumiko's eyes and opens the gate as a result of the scan.

Fumiko puts her glasses back and proceeds to takes out the key from her schoolbag while the gate behind her automatically closes.

The moment she opens the door after unlocking it, cold air suddenly goes out from the house.

Her skin shivers a bit from the coldness but she is used to it. Hence she enters the house and closes the door.

"I'm back~."

She says that as she arrives at a big living room. It looks like a normal living room with sofa, TV, tables and chairs but there are three air conditioners that makes the room really cold.

Fumiko realizes that no one is inside the living room so she puts her bag on the sofa and goes to the kitchen.

Inside the kitchen, she takes a glass and put water with ice cubes inside. She also puts a straw on the glass.

She goes back to the living room and approaches the cylinder-shaped lift.

Her right hand presses the lift button while her left hand is holding the glass with ice water.

She goes inside the lift and proceeds to go underground.

When she arrives underground, she looks at the room that looks like a garage with lots of vehicle tools. She also knows that someone is under the sports car by spotting the pale-skinned legs.

"I'm back~"

"Eh?"

Shizuka's voice can be heard under the car. Then Shizuka goes out from under the car while holding wrenches. She is wearing black shirt with no sleeves and green short pants. Her white hair is tied into ponytail style. Her face and hands are smeared with oil.

"You could have called me to pick you up..."

She says that when she stands up. Her short height makes it seem like she is younger than Fumiko.

"I called taxi. More importantly, did something happen to Kyrieze?"

Fumiko says that while bringing the glass with ice water closer to Shizuka's face.

"Nah, it's just a regular maintenance."

Right after saying that, Shizuka wants to take the glass with her right hand but Fumiko pulls the glass back.

Then Shizuka realizes that her hands are smeared with oil so she brings her face closer the glass with ice water.

Fumiko then brings the glass closer and Shizuka starts drinking the ice water from the straw using only her mouth.

(It seems the like she has not checked the news yet. Or maybe the news is not up yet...)

Fumiko thinks that while seeing the white-haired Yuki-Onna Youkai drinking the ice water.

After Shizuka finishes drinking, Fumiko puts the glass on the nearest table. Then Shizuka starts talking.

"What's wrong?"

"Eh?"

Fumiko is surprised a bit by Shizuka's question.

"You look depressed. Are you still bothered by what happened this morning?"

"No, it's not bothering me that much anymore. Anyway, I'll make dinner today."

"... Okay."

After hearing Shizuka's reply, Shizuka quickly goes up using lift again.

The moment she arrives at the living room, she takes a remote control and turns on the TV using it.

The TV quickly shows a news telling that the Superhero Giga Vegandor beating the Supernatural Being and protecting citizens from harm.

"I saw the battle directly! And let me tell you, it was amazing!"

"Giga Vegandor! If you are watching this, I want to thank you for protecting us!"

While Fumiko is seeing people's excited response in the news. She starts thinking.

(Superhero will always beat the villain... that was what I always thought...)

A flashback appears in her mind when the child Fumiko was shocked looking at the dragon-like creature destroying the silver four-legged robot with its jaw.

(Without knowing just how dangerous their job is...)

Right after she thinks that, Fumiko press the remote's button to turns off the TV.
