The Reign Amid the Rain

“HOLD THE LINE!”

Kana yelled out as she did her test to support her Common Folk in using light magic to hold back the onslaught of Riku’s forces of darkness. The hard and heavy rain, along with the booming thunder only made the battle all the more intense on a psychological level for Kana and for Kimi.

“HOLD THEM BACK! WE CAN’T LET THEM GET TO THE NEXT AREA OF THE FORTRESS OR THE ARMORY!”

Kana ordered desperately as she looked back at Kimi. 

“Prepare for contact! We need to be ready!”

Kimi ordered, but her fear could he heard in her voice much more than could be heard in Kana’s. Kimi looked over at her Common Folk, knowing that they had to hold their area down, while also knowing that the prospects of Kana making it through this battle were grim.

Just then, Kana could see a flurry of darkness magic being thrown her way by Riku’s forces - and so on a bid of final desperation forged out courage and love - and pulled out her failsafe Sorcerers and Slayers card: 

Holy Martyrdom - Effect: Allows the Sorceress Queen, if she is about to perish in battle - to transfer her powers to a Slayer or Sorcerer/Sorceress King/Queen.

As Kana activated the card with a slashing motion, she burst into light and as a glowing, gold and white spirit-like form, flew into Kimi, her spirit-like form being not her, but the manifestation of her powers as a Sorceress Queen - for Kana was nos back in Japan, her memories wiped away of all that had happened in this other realm. 

“PREPARE TO DEFEND!”

Kimi ordered, looking to her Common Folk as her hair now had streaks of white and gold in it, with her eyes glowing gold and white, and her armor and enchanted sword now having accents of these colors too!

“I’ll destroy your evil and your darkness - WITH MY LOVE!”

Kimi yelled out at Riku, his forces having defeated Kana’s, as evidenced by the masses of flashes of light ascending rapidly into the sky of the realm - all of those who were Common Folk in this realm would go back to Japan as they were before, yet devoid of their memories of this realm.

“I’d like to see you try!”

Riku said as he cackled, before turning to his Common Folk, as he pulled out two cards: 

Assault Troll Formation - Effect: Allows the Sorcerer King to bend and manipulate the magical essence of a maximum of fifty of his Common Folk - in order to turn them into Assault Trolls.

Black Fire Battering Ram - Effect: Allows for an Assault Troll Formation to carry and wield a wooden, black-flaming battering ram with the all powerful ramming head in the shape of an unholy underworld wolf.

With a similar looks motion, Riku activated these Sorcerers and Slayers cards - fifty of his Common Folk were instant it turned into a formation of Assault Trolls - with them each being  ten to fifteen feet all, all of them heavy and strong, but surprisingly quick - with black skin, and only three massive toes. They wore tight, sharp edged torso armor and full head and neck protection armored helmets that were horned, and they carried rather short handled axes with downward blades that were almost as long as the handle themselves!

Six of these Assault Trolls collectively held the battering ram that had been summoned as they, the other forty-four Assault Trolls, as well as Riku and the rest of his Common Folk surged forward! 

Due to Riku’s Common Folk and Assault Trolls being enchanted with venom per the effecting a card he’d played earlier in the battle, the Assault Trolls hacked and battered at the reinforced doors of the fortress and armory, while countless Common Folk under Riku turned into flashes of light after tumbling into the enchanted flame moat, or running into the enchanted-bladed walls of the fortress and armory! 

“No matter if they break through the doors, no matter if they blast more holes in the walls - we cannot let them win, we must stand our ground and win!”

Kimi said with a surge of her newly acquired power - feeling both more confident and overall more powerful as Riku’s Common Folk then threw darkness magic up at the defenders, with some of the degrees high able to parry then with their swords, while others became flashes of light, going back to their owls and away from the realm.

“I need two detachments down to meet those Assault Trolls when they break through - as it’s only a matter of time!”

Kimi ordered as about seventy of her Common Folk made it down from the walls to behind the main doors that were being hacked at and battered away by the Assault Trolls!

For now, the battle had slowed - but it wasn’t going to be long before it would erupt into a fury yet unseen!
