Chapter 52:

Worrying news

Rockstar Isekai: fighting against Silence

After defeating Famine, the group teleported to the garage in Floridburg and communicated their victory to the Anti-Silence Unit.

“We should celebrate our victory!” exclaimed Gregory.

Tristan turned pale. “No, I hate celebrating, because if I’m too happy, it will surely happen something really bad.”

Beatrice, on the contrary, instantly agreed. “Yes, let’s celebrate!”

Olive chuckled. “Of course I’m in.”

“It’s not a party without you, Olive!” Gregory exclaimed.

Everyone turned to Natsuo.

“Fine, let’s celebrate” he sighed.

Gregory, Olive and Beatrice cheered, while Tristan looked like he was about to die.

“I’m sorry, I was with you with this one” said Natsuo and patted him on his shoulder.

They all left the garage, but Olive tugged at Natsuo's shirt to get his attention.

Natsuo glanced back and noticed that she was a little down.

“Is something wrong?” he asked.

“No, it’s just…” she paused. “I was completely helpless today. The four of you all did something useful, but I wasn’t able to do anything and I feel bad about it.”

Natsuo smiled softly.

“It’s okay. Your system couldn’t do anything against Famine, it’s not your fault.” His expression turned serious. “I prefer this way. I’m glad you didn’t try to do anything dangerous.”

Olive looked up to watch him directly in his eyes.

“You don’t know how much I was worried about you after you got hit by your own explosion” Natsuo said.

Olive blushed for embarrassment.

“I still feel embarrassed about that. Please, forget it.”

Natsuo chuckled.

“How can I forget it? It would be funny to think back about it in ten years, don’t you think?”

For some reason, Olive was happy to hear those words. They meant that Natsuo thought they would be together even in ten years. She smiled.

“Maybe… But it’s still embarrassing!”

Natsuo caressed her cheek with one hand.

“I’ll never forget anything about you, good and bad things” he said.

Olive blushed hard. What was he saying?

“All the moments spent with the band… I’ll never forget anything. I’m grateful to have met every single one of you. So don’t ask me to forget anything, because I want to cherish all these precious memories forever.”

Olive smiled. “You’re right. Now that I’m finally happy, it would be a shame to forget something!”

“Hey, you two! Hurry up, otherwise we’ll leave you behind!” exclaimed Beatrice.

“We’re coming” replied Natsuo.

He turned to Olive and smiled at her. “Let’s go.”

Olive nodded and followed him.

Beatrice immediately reached her to walk next to her. She glanced at her with a cunning smile.

“So you’re in love with Natsuo. Understandable, he’s so cool and pretty!”

Olive blushed up to her ears.

“What are you talking about? I’m just grateful, that’s it!” She crossed her arms. “And you should stop complimenting him so much!”

Beatrice nudged her and winked at her.

“Somebody is jealous, here!” she teased her.

“Stop it!” Olive complained, hiding her red face with her hands.

Beatrice chuckled. “Seriously talking, I’m cheering for you, you can do it!”

Olive glanced at her, confused.

“I thought you loved Natsuo more than yourself and that you wanted him to be your boyfriend…”

Beatrice reddened, embarrassed, recognizing the words she said to Natsuo the time she saw him at the Royal Palace.

“Well, I would like to have him, but I think I like him more as a fan loves his idol, just it.”

Olive nodded. “Understood. Natsuo has a lot of fans, after all.”

Beatrice smiled.

“Yes, and I’m his number one fan!”

Olive glanced at her, a bit annoyed.

“That’s not true. I’m his number one fan.”

“What? No, I’m sorry. You can be his girlfriend, but not his biggest fan! You can’t steal that title from me, everyone at the palace knows it!”

“What if I want to be both?”

“You can’t!”

The two girls crossed her arms and looked away.

They were making a bit of noise, so Gregory glanced back at them.

“What’s happening there?” he asked.

Natsuo, who was next to him, shuddered.

“Who knows…”

He turned his head to the two girls with a smirk depicted on his facee. What a conversation he heard.

***

After a few days, the Anti-Silence Unit summoned Rockstar Isekai to the headquarters in Blossomhyl to talk about the next mission.

Unfortunately, things were getting worse everyday that passed. The last region, the Duchy of Eldertoun, had to face a very strong wave of monsters and a lot of forts had fallen. The wave had reached the capital city, Eldertoun, and it was a massacre.

At last, the Units were able to defeat it, but the deaths and injuries were countless. The most unusual thing was that there were more deaths than injuries, while normally it was the contrary.

In the report there was also written that the soldiers had to face not only ghost type of silent monsters, but also white, red and black.

Richard More placed his hands on the table.

“I suspect it’s the work of the fourth Vassal. No one knows anything about him, because they all died after seeing him” he said.

Olive shivered.

“But why leave the infected area? The Vassals should stay in the heart of their own territories, right?” said Natsuo.

Richard More sighed.

“I would like to have answers, but no one ever reached this point, so we don’t know anything. Maybe the fourth Vassal is enraged because his companions died and he’s orchestrating something against us.”

“Or maybe he was the leader and he’s going to avenge his servants!” suggested Beatrice.

“It could be. After all, he must be able to summon even other types of silent monsters, other than the ghost type. Anyway, his reasons don’t matter, the fact is that we have to face such a dangerous enemy. Even your healing can’t do anything against death” said Richard.

“Don’t worry, we’ll get rid of him. You can trust us” Natsuo reassured him.

“I really hope so. This time will be tough, this Vassal is different from the others.”

Natsuo was about to reply, but got interrupted by the ringing of a bell.

Everyone in the room turned pale: that sound wasn’t supposed to be heard again in Blossomhyl.
