Rockstar Isekai: fighting against Silence

The bell that warned of the silent monsters’ arrival rang and its sound reached Natsuo and the others in Richard More’s office.

A soldier swung the door open.

“Captain, we have a problem, a big problem” he said, breathless. “Silent monsters are attacking all the four castles around Blossomhyl and the waves are extremely huge. From what the reports said, they’re not of only one type, but they’re mixed together. The situation is out of control.”

“Send all Units to help, except Unit 1” Richard replied.

“Yes, Captain!” The soldier saluted the Captain and left the office.

Richard More narrowed his eyes, thoughtful.

“We were on the verge of winning and now the situation has turned around. I don’t know if we’re enough to face four waves at the same time. Reports of the fall of a lot of forts have arrived today: there are many soldiers injured and now we’ve been attacked from all fronts.” He sighed. “Is there something you can do, Himura Natsuo?”

Natsuo thought about it and an idea came to his mind.

“Maybe, but I have to verify something beforehand. It won’t take much time” he replied.

Richard nodded.

“If the plan goes well, you’ll notice it” Natsuo added.

The other members glanced at him with interrogative faces.

“The only thing I can do now is trust you. Let’s hope for the best” said Richard.

The group left the headquarters and went to the garage.

“What do you have in mind?” asked Olive.

Natsuo smirked. “You’ll see. For now, let’s check what’s happening in the other regions, too.”

The group did as he said, and used the teleport from one garage to another to see the situation in all of Roselond.

As Natsuo expected, Blossomhyl wasn’t the only city that was under attack. It was as if silent monsters had suddenly woken up and decided to destroy everything.

“As things stand, it’s useless to join the battle, so we’ll do something better” said Natsuo.

“That is?” asked Beatrice.

“A livestream” Natsuo replied.

The other four members looked at him, puzzled.

“Mind to explain?” asked Olive.

“Yeah, basically we’ll play from our garage and our performance will be seen on big screens in every fort and battlefield in Roselond to support the soldiers.”

“Is it really possible to do something like this?” asked Tristan, bewildered. “They can see us, but we can’t see them… It’s strange.”

Natsuo opened the Rockstar System menu.

“I hope so” he replied.

He concentrated to unlock a new skill that could put his words into practice.

New skill unlocked: LIVESTREAM.

Please, select the points in the map where you would like your performance to be broadcast.

Natsuo grinned satisfied and selected the Anti-Silence Unit forts scattered throughout Roselond and the four most important cities: Blossomhyl, Blueweald, Floridburg and Eldertoun.

When would you like your livestream to start?

Natsuo set the time fifteen minutes from that moment.

Perfect! Your livestream will start in fifteen minutes and will be broadcast in the following places…

The system listed all the chosen places, then the interface changed. Now, Natsuo could see the countdown on the top left and on the bottom right he could check what was being broadcast.

He turned to the others.

“Perfect, everything should work. Let’s get ready for our first livestream. Remember that a lot of people are watching us, don’t be lazy just because you don’t see them.”

They all nodded.

“Now it’s time to change outfits” Natsuo said.

Before he could use his skill, Olive approached him.

“Make a decent dress for Beatrice, she’s only eighteen” she whispered in his ear and gave him a murderous look.

Natsuo raised his hands. “Okay, but don’t kill me” he joked.

He used his skill OUTFITS and everyone was enveloped by a dazzling light that vanished after a moment, revealing the outfit change.

As Olive requested, Beatrice wore clothes that covered her body enough, not showing too much skin. She had a white sleeveless shirt that enhanced the shape of her body and had a leather jacket over it. She wore low waist leather shorts with a huge belt. Her legs were covered in fishnet stockings and she was wearing knee-high leather boots.

“Wow! Is this how you change outfits every time before a performance?” Beatrice asked, with loving eyes.

“Yes, pretty convenient, right?” replied Olive.

Beatrice nodded, enthusiastic.

“Okay, now let’s position ourselves. Olive in the center, me and Gregory next to Olive, Gregory a little further back, otherwise the drums won’t fit. Beatrice on the left side and Tristan on the right side” said Natsuo.

They all did as they were told and Natsuo summoned the instruments. To make them know where they had to look, the Rockstar System materialized a video camera with a mechanical arm that moved with magic.

“This is the camera. Looking here it’s like looking at the people who are watching us on the other side of the screen” explained Natsuo.

They all seemed to be excited to try all these new things, except for Tristan, who looked lost.

“If I look into this mechanical eye, will people perceive it as I’m watching them in their eyes?” he asked, confused.

Natsuo nodded.

“What kind of magic is this? It’s too strange… I can’t figure out how someone who’s not here can see us anyway.” He was trying to understand the functioning, but the more he thought about it, the more his mind got confused.

“Don’t worry, it doesn’t matter now” Natsuo replied.

He observed the interface before his eyes and noticed a button called: STAGE SETTINGS.

He clicked on it and found out with pleasure that he could add details to the surroundings to make it more scenographic.

He grinned and turned off the lights of the garage. Everyone turned to him, startled.

Natsuo added spotlights, red lights and flashing lights to the stage. Everything materialized into the garage.

“What’s going on?” asked Olive, confused.

The garage was now illuminated by a soft red light and spotlights were pointed to them.

Natsuo glanced at the screen on the bottom right of his vision, proud of his work. Now the garage looked like a real stage.

“I made some adjustments to the stage” he replied. “We’re about to start the livestream, get ready!”

Three seconds… Two seconds… One second…

Your livestream has started.
