Chapter 9:

"Weaving a Story," Part IV: "First Score"

Angel of the Strait

About eleven years ago, Aaron was a young man in his early twenties. Aaron was with a group of people that included a young Travis, Lexicus, and two other men who haven’t introduced themselves yet in the scene. These three are holding up a crowd in a busy bank and the tension in the air is enough to tell the difficulties at the moment. Each man is carrying a gun and Travis has been trying to convince the employees to open the door to the teller’s booth for him.

“Are you fucking kidding me?!” Travis exclaims before he draws his pistol on an elderly woman nearby, “Open the fuck door!” Travis primes his weapon as intimidation, and the employees finally give in and open the door.

Another man, by the name of Bosphorus, last name unknown, bursts into the employee booth and holds everyone at gunpoint, “If any of you fucking move, I will blow your head off!” Bosphorus threatens with his shotgun.

“Bosso, what time is it?” Aaron asks as he is holding the crowd hostage with Lexicus. Bosso is the nickname given to Bosphorus, it’s quite similar to his name but it works.

Bosphorus quickly looks at his wrist watch, “We have one minute!” He exclaims to the entire group.

“Hustle the fuck up Viscus!” Lexicus shouts toward Travis who is in the back grabbing the cash. Viscus is the name given to Travis during robberies.

Bosphorus then stands on the counter and speaks to everyone inside the establishment, “Listen everyone! If you let us do our job, we can promise you that all of you will go home safe!” Bosphorus gives a speech, “We don’t want to hurt anybody, and you don’t want to die for the bank’s money! This money is insured, you will not lose a penny!” Bosphorus explains.

Just as Bosphorus was speaking, a random man bursts through the bank’s front entrance armed with a handgun and screams, “Die you criminal shits!” Before firing blankly into the bank aiming toward Bosphorus. He isn’t allowed more than two shots before Lexicus immediately shoots the man dead with his submachine gun, popping a couple rounds into the man’s side. However, the damage is clear, Bosphorus has a bullet hole in his shoulder and then comes off of the counter in pain. Some people in the crowd nearly scream as they shake heavily.

“Fuck! That son of a bitch got me!” Bosphorus cries.

“You’ll be alright, it’s just a flesh wound!” Lexicus reassures Bosphorus.

Travis at that moment rushed out from the back carrying his bag of cash, “Let’s go!” Travis exclaims.

The group immediately rushes outside of the bank as the alarm is rung by an employee. The group doesn’t care, and Bosphorus pushes himself in order to keep going. They run down a planned alleyway expecting to see a car. However, they were royally disappointed at the sight of nothing.

“Where the fuck is Danielus?!” Bosphorus cries in worry at the absence of their getaway. Sirens cry in the background and the group look at each other with worry.

“This is fucking madness!” Aaron comments.

“It will be fine Aaron, shut the fuck up!” Bosphorus responds to Aaron’s comment, “Lexicus,” He looks at Lexicus, “do you have any ideas?”

Lexicus stands in thought, “Well uh-”

The group is interrupted by the sight of a cop car pulling into the alleyway they were standing in. The group looks in terror at the sight of this cop.

Aaron then looks at a utility door, “Guys, in here.” Aaron blasts the lock of the door with his shotgun and they each enter as the cop car races down the alleyway.

They close the door behind them, and they run through a corridor filled with electronic equipment and the entire place feels damp and dark. The pathway is very thin, only meant for a single file line. Travis is in the back of their line while Aaron is in the very front. A cop from the car they saw earlier manages to catch up to the crew.

“Stop right there!” The cop demands.

Travis then without hesitation raises his gun to shoot the cop dead. He doesn’t look back, he continues to run with the group, and everyone else is too worried about their own survival and safety to be concerned with the dead cop. It doesn’t seem like that cop had any other officers in the area, it’s almost his fault for going in by himself against a group of armed robbers.

The group then find another door which they soon find out is unlocked. This door leads directly into the metro subway tunnel. “This is quite the predicament.” Lexicus comments.

“Just run for it!” Bosphorus tells everyone.

The four men jump onto the subway tracks and dash their way down the tunnel as close to the wall as they possibly can be. For the first few minutes of their run, they don’t encounter any trains passing through. However, Travis feels shaking on the tracks.

“There’s a train coming!” Travis warns the group.

The crew then bolts to the nearest cutout on the side of the tunnel. It’s another utility door cutout that is the same as the one they entered in. The train passes them by and some of the people on the train look at the men with great surprise. The men then continued toward the direction the train was heading. After about ten minutes of straight running, the group finds themselves at a poorly populated train station where they head into a janitor’s closet without many people looking. They think about taking off their clothes and ditching their money and equipment here, but Bosphorus has other plans.

“No.” Bosphorus firmly states, “We aren’t leaving the money, keep your masks on, keep your guns with you, we keep going.”

They walk out to find a woman nearby, she notices the group of men and starts to scream and run. The men don’t pay much attention to her, they continue up the stairs onto the upper levels of the subway station. There is a larger crowd upstairs, and an unarmed guard at the end of the hallway. The group pushes through the crowd of people, frightening absolutely everyone that sees them. People duck on the ground, some run somewhere else. Bosphorus reaches the unarmed guard and with rage he shoots the man clean in the heart just as the guard puts his hands up.

“What the fuck are you doing?!” Travis questions Bosphorus.

Bosphorus pays no mind to Travis and continues to pass the first gate up to the ground level. Right before the group heads up the final flight of stairs, a teenager gets in the way of Bosphorus by accident. Bosphorus then smacks the teen with his gun, and proceeds to stomp the kid’s head out.

“What the fuck are you doing?!” Aaron yells at Bosphorus and tries to pull him away, but Bosphorus smacks Aaron with his gun too.

“If any piece of shit motherfucker gets in the way of my money...they are a dead man!” Bosphorus warns the group, “You are all no exception, don’t get in my way!” He threatens with his gun waving toward everyone.
