Spotlight #17: Nevena

Nevena Zograf, age 41. Born in Skopje, North Macedonia, she's always been proud of her Macedonian heritage. Though a true descendant of Esperanto creator L. L. Zamenhoff, she never took an interest in the language itself, unlike her daughter, Barbro, who was unhealthily obsessed with it. 

Following Barbro's rise to power, she quickly warped North Macedonia into the Esperanto-centered New Republic of Paeonia, resulting in nearly all forgetting about Macedonia's history from the Yugoslav breakup until present day. She was unable to erase the latent knowledge of the Macedonian language, resulting in many occasions of citizens bursting out phrases in Macedonian. Nevena was one of these, and quickly realized her daughter had messed shit up, making it her mission to both set her straight and try to restore North Macedonia to how it was before.
