Chapter 42:
The Otaku Mage
“Can we really let him fight an archdemon alone?”, Hinako asked
She stood next to Yamada. Both had their hands placed on the light pillar in front of them. In fact, every able mage in the vicinity hat his hands placed on one of the many light pillars around the three kilometer radius circle and poured their magic energy into creating this massive barrier.
“If he says he can beat it, then he can. I trust him.”, Yamada said firmly convinced.
“Since when?”, interjected Droplet from the other side.
“I always trusted him!”
“Ha! You always were the one that complained about him the most and said how stupid the Otaku is!”, Gale said from further right.
“No… well, maybe… But I always trust him!”
“Yeah right…”, Balze interjected from further left.
“So… the tsundere act really was just an act, huh?”, Hinako asked outright.
“Umm… yeah…”, Yamada admitted.
“Why, though?”
“I… hm… after, well he and I had a bit of… an argument…”
“You broke his trust and looked into something you shouldn’t have.”
“Yeah… that… it was awkward between us from then… I asked Yukiko on how to fix it and go back like we were before… She told me, that Otakus always love these tsundere characters and I should try acting like one… so I did a lot of… research…”
“You read Manga?!”
“RESEARCH!... and yeah well, I did act like that from then on… but yeah… it didn’t work.”
“Yeah, go figures… Otakus might like tsundere characters, but only in manga, not in real life.”
“How was I supposed to know I don’t really do all that stuff…”
“In the real-world men want to be treated nicely too. You can’t imagine how greatly a simple compliment will affect a man… he will think about it for days, if not weeks!”, Droplet added.
“Yeah! You should have seen the Otaku as I had his head between my thighs and granted him one of his greatest wishes!”, Hinako said.
“You did WHAT?!”, Yamada exclaimed surprised and let go of the light pillar.
“SNIPER!”, Blaze warned as the light pillar flickered a bit.
“Oh, fuck sorry…”
“You probably meant ON your thighs… not BETWEEN your thighs, right Inferno? Don’t tease Sniper like that.” Droplet said and giggled.
“Oh, yeah my bad…”, Hinako said innocently
A huge explosion shook the ground suddenly.
“Oh, it looks like it started.”, Blaze said.
Both emerged slightly battered from the explosion. Kuro slightly bled from his nose. He wiped it with the back of his hand. A grin crept on his face. He finally could let loose again and had someone to fight full force. It had been ages since he last had this opportunity. He slowly began to move circling a bit around Morthos, who glared at him. The archdemon had a small cut across his chest. Kuro suddenly jumped up high, brought four of his spheres in front, changed their shape to spears and drilled them through some of the tendrils. Lighting crackling from them on the archdemons body. Simultaneously he let the next four circle in front of him and shot a beam directly at Morthos face. The archdemon countered with a wide side sweep with a bunch of his tendrils from the left. Kuro moved his remaining two spheres in for the defense and changed their properties to burn through the tendrils, which they successfully did, but one from the other side grabbed his feet and flung him into a building, part of it crashing down on him. But with a rubble explosion he got up, grabbed the building pieces with his magic and shot them at great speed at Morthos, who blocked most of them with his tendrils. Only a few fragments hit him on the shoulder, slightly damaging it. Morthos finally freed himself from his spears that pinned him to the ground. They returned to sphere shape and went flying back to Kuro, who immediately started his new attack. Hovering all ten in front he began to shoot a purple laser from every one of them. The continuous beams burned through the tendrils. Morthos jumped up to get away from the beams. His body grew again as the newly forming tendrils from his body were bigger than before. He was hanging from the side of a building and extended his arms again. Six big circles of darkness appeared and beams of what looked like dark energy shot from them. Kuro countered with a big sized purple beam. They exploded midway again as they met in a huge explosion. Morthos had grown in size again, he held up his arm and a huge black ball of energy formed over his head. He then threw it at Kuro.
“Oh, I know that one! I have played that game!”, he exclaimed with a grin.
He merged five of his spheres together into a big sword and stood ready. As the black ball came into striking range, he hit it, sending it back to Morthos. As it threatened to hit him, he just punched it with his tendrils, flinging it back again. The ball gained speed for every successful return. This continued for a while until Morthos missed his hit, because the ball had been going really fast. The explosion flung him against another building. Morthos grew again in size. He grabbed part of the building he was not on top and threw it at Kuro. He dodged but something caught his eye, and he looked at the parts on the floor. He saw countless anime figurines lying around with broken glass showcases in between. He then looked at the building Morthos was currently on top off. He recognized it.
“Did you just throw my favorite Figurine Shop at me, you fuck? Okay that’s it! No more, Mr. Nice Guy! You are going in the dumpster buddy!”, Kuro growled enraged.
He then grabbed part of a building himself with his magic and threw it at Morthos, who dodged by jumping to the next building and flinging part of that. That went on for a while and pieces of buildings became entire buildings that got thrown through the air. Kuro was standing on top two of his purple speres he had flattened out a bit und flew around with those. With his next throw he grabbed a huge junk of the mega Don Buijote and threw it at Morthos, who got hit and thrown against a building collapsing it. Kuro appeared behind him as the archdemon pulled itself free. Kuro grabbed him by the horns and spun around with him violently. Until he flung him against another building.
“There! Look there they are! Damn they really going at each other.”, Blaze exclaimed.
“Yeah… wait are they playing ping pong now?”, Asked Droplet.
“Oh, he got him good there!” said Hinako.
“That’s my boy!”, Yamada said proudly.
Everybody laughed.
“Whaat?”
“Nothing… It’s just so funny to hear you now fawn over him so much, when all we heard for years was how he is stupid and he annoys you.”, Blaze said with a friendly smile.
“I mean what even do you see in him?”, Gale asked.
“Look at him right now! He is going up against an archdemon and he in shitting on him!
“I mean I guess to each their own…. Holy! Did he just throw part of a building?
“And now comes the whole building!”, Blaze said entertained.
“And now he is throwing him around!”, Hinako exclaimed.
“Damn, when he is done there will be no building standing anymore… Can we afford that?”, Droplet asked.
“Ummm… nah… we probably have to file for bankruptcy and let the government bail us out…”, Yamada said.
“Can we do that? Aren’t we part of the Government?”, Blaze asked.
“Well, we’ll see what happens with the MDF after this.”
“What do you mean?”
“Well over half of our personnel is gone. Our Grandmaster is gone and we will be bankrupt… It’s not looking good right now…”
“But we do have a Grandmaster.”
“Who?
“You, Sniper, who else?
“Are you sure you want to continue with me as your commander? Even in Bankruptcy?”
“We could just open up a small private Magical security Firm… My Brother-in-law has one, they make good money… and can choose the contracts they take…”, Gale added.
“That may be not a bad idea…”, Yamada agree, “Well, we’ll see what happens…”
