Chapter 43:

The Final Showdown: The Final Battle, Part III

The Otaku Mage

Kuro and Morthos flung building around again. Both showed signs of exhaustion. Kuro took six of his remaining eight spheres turned them into stakes and pinned Morthos against a building. His lightnings licking over the archdemon’s body. From his two remaining free spheres he began to shoot purple beams again and burning through the tendrils of Morthos. They have begun to regenerate slower than before and also smaller, So the archdemon was already back to two thirds his maximum size again. Morthos tried to free himself from the stakes, he couldn’t pull them out. The two beams relentlessly cutting through his tendrils and body. In a desperate attempt he ripped his own tendrils to free himself. Freed he extended his arms again and shot multiple beams of dark energy at him. Most of Kuro’s spheres were still stakes and stuck in the building. He was too late to pull them back out, so he only had his two spheres free and the two under his feet. He jumped backwards from them and let all four circle fast before him, trying to block the oncoming beams, but some got through and hit him in body. Kuro got flung backwards and down right into a building. Morthos jumped after him and began to pummel him into the ground with the remaining tendrils and power that he had. Kuro felt some of his ribs break as a sharp pain shot through his body, but he finally managed to pull the stakes out of the building and let them fly back to him. He had flown quite a bit though, so it took them a while to cover the distance. Time that Morthos used to pummel him further. He finally had all his spheres in his vicinity again. He placed them all around Morthos and let crystals grow from them. They started big and penetrated into Morthos holding him in place and finally stopping the pummelling. He then let the crystals inside fan out into millions of smaller crystal penetrating through nearly every inch of the Archdemon. Morthos glared at him, unable to move. He didn’t have enough strength left to break the crystals and free himself.

“Scatter.” Kuro said with a smile, looking at him.

Every part of the crystals inside and outside Morthos began to scatter in billions of mini shards, ripping the Archdemon asunder. In the next moment nothing but dust remained of him. Kuro began to laugh. He hadn’t had this much fun fighting in ages.

“Thanks for the bout.”, He said as the last of Morthos dust settled.

He leaned his head back, closed his eyes and breathed deeply. Kuro heard a quiet plop and then he gasped slightly as someone gently landed on top of him. He opened his eyes and looked directly into Yamada’s.

“Hey there, Handsome.”, She said grinning brightly.

“Hey there, Beautiful.”, Kuro answered grinning as well.

“You did it.”

“I did… did I make you regret telling me to go all out and ignoring collateral damage?”

Yamada looked around the destroyed building they were in and the others she could see from here.

“Oh yeah… and you did make me other things too.” She admitted and winked at him

“Oh? What things?” Kuro asked curiously.

“Well, they are connected to my promise to you… promises.”

“Oho, that sounds interesting.”

“How about we postpone the beer and get straight to the promises?”

“Here? Right now? But I’m exhausted…”

“Don’t worry you won’t have to move.”

Yamada leaned down and kissed him.

“I love you”, She said between kisses.

“I love you too.”, Kuro replied at the next opportunity.
