Chapter 7:

School of the DEAD

The Land of Maidens and Corpses (Original)

I still lay there, tired, on my back, even minutes after the voice had first spoken to me. I was beginning to question whether or not I had been hearing things. If it was a real voice, calling out to me from all sides, I wouldn't be too surprised. However, if I was finally beginning to go mad, then I was worried. The last thing I wanted was losing my mind during this. A lack of sanity would mean illogical choices, which all eventually would. . . lead to death.

Wait. . . what am I saying?!

Well, whatever. . . No point in lying here in fear of death. I'll starve to death or die of thirst if I stay here. Besides, I have to find whoever that voice belongs too. They must be somewhere inside the building, probably the intercom. Alright, that's where we start looking first.

I stood and walked over to the door, attempting to open it. It was still locked. Right, I forgot. . .

"Oi, you there living flesh! Could you help me out here?" I can't believe I just asked help from a suspicious looking mass of flesh, muscle and bone. The flesh began moving and creeping across the ceiling towards the door. Suddenly a large skeleton arm similar to the one before extended from the mass, and slowly descended down towards the door. I stepped to the side. It clenched like a fist, and punched the door so hard that it fell to the floor.

"Uh. . . Thanks, I guess?" What do you even say to a large skeleton hand that looked like it protruded from a corpse?

I stepped into the hallway. It was surprisingly clean considering, and looked rather untouched, despite the grotesque mass of flesh inside the room. No dirt, no stains, not even a single corpse or undead.

"I guess it hasn't been more than a day since it was cleaned properly, but it's still quite clean."

There was something rather odd though. If there was school yesterday, where were all the other students? Had they evacuated and escaped somehow? Or were they still here somewhere? Or maybe those guys outside had also been in here. . . And they might all be dead.

No. There was no point in theorising. I had to get to the intercom. That's the floor above. I slowly began ascending the stairs to the next floor.

Again, on this floor there was no trace of dirt or stains. No indication that anyone had left this place in a hurry or the undead had gotten inside. So, where was everyone? They might still be hiding?

I walked up to a classroom and looked inside, I couldn't really see anyone. Then again, it was getting late. I should probably go rest soon--

Inside the room, multiple white dots had appeared everywhere. They quickly went shut again, when they must've noticed I was looking in at them. . . I suddenly realised it. Those are. . . Does that mean. . .?

I looked around at all the other classrooms. They're all inside these classrooms right now? So, the ones outside weren't the only ones. . .

I was stuck inside a building with a dozen of them. A dozen of the undead locked inside this building with me right now. There was not a moment of hesitation. I ran to the intercom room, as quickly as I could, attempting to avoid getting near the windows of the classrooms, out of fear that they might jump at any second. I continuously saw those white eyes looking out at me. . . But they weren't hunting me like the ones outside. Almost like guard dogs that had been told to stay put.

Finally, I reached it. The intercom room. I quickly stepped inside and locked the door. I took a deep breath out of relief. "Man, that was scary. . ." I backed a few steps back--

My luck was just rotten, huh. . .?

I had suddenly bumped into something. Oh no! Not another one. I slowly turned around, awaiting the fear. I was right. . .

Instead of getting a better look, I ran to the door and quickly unlocked it, rushing outside and into the hallway. Dammit, I couldn't see it properly, but it was huge! What did they feed it?

Roar! The wall to the Intercoms room, suddenly collapsed, as the hulking beast rushed out of the "room". I guess it wasn't really a room anymore.

It looked at me, as I was running for the stairs. "Dammit, I gotta get out of here!". Too late. The beast was already after me. Running like a gorilla, it caught up to me quite easily and grabbed a hold of me. Crap, crap, crap! I tried to get out of its grasp, but it was too strong.

This is the part where it was gonna eat me and I was gonna die . . . However, it didn't. It simply just started walking towards the stairs still carrying me in its grasp.

It climbed to the third and final floor, before walking down the hallway to one of the classrooms. This was the seniors hallway, and I hadn't really been here before. With the current situation, I would've preferred if my first time here, wouldn't have been being carried around by the incredibly undead Hulk.

Finally we reached a classroom, where it dropped me onto the floor.

OW!

"Hey, watch were your dropping me! It wasn't the most painful thing that ever happened to me, but it still hurt, okay--?"

The beast simply growled staring at me, with a lifeless look in its eye. It wasn't particularly malicious look in any way. This was even more strange than the commander. This one didn't really care about letting me go. I could tell it had no intention of eating me at all, strangely enough.

"So, you aren't all just gluttonous flesh hungry corpses, huh--?"

The growling got a bit louder.

"I mean. . .You sure are. . . Big. . . And, strong. . ." I really didn't how to flatter it. How do you flatter a big hulking undead beasts, that look like gorilla with the way they run? I really didn't know myself--

"Oh. . You're here. . . Kazuya-ousama" A voice from inside the room spoke. It was the same voice from earlier. I could much more clearly hear the voice now that I was closer. "Come in. . ."

I wasn't really surprised, but. . . Kazuya-ousama. . .?
