Chapter 23:

The Escape plan

Secrets of Loenhess

Aiya (Wipes the tears away): Okay, now if I recall correctly Mika mentioned there are secret stairways in just about every room. Hana, look for a lever somewhere on the walls or a button that may trigger the entrance. I’ll try to get the children out of glass enclosures.

//Hana frantically search for the lever or button to the secret stairway.

//Aiya finds a control panel on the outside of the cylinders and manages to open them and remove the children. The children cough up some liquid from inside their lungs and slowly begin to regain consciousness.

Hana: Tsk, this is nearly impossible, I can’t even find the haystacks to even being searching for the needle.

//Hana then turns her back against a wall and slides down to the ground. She slams her head against the wall and sighs. But as she looks to the middle of the room, she sees a water cooler. She tired and thirsty so she heads toward the water cooler. As she approaches, she notices 4 buttons on the cooler, one blue, one red, one white, and one black? She presses the blue button, and the water comes out cold, and likewise the red is hot water, and the white just room temperature. She starts to wonder about the black button and presses it once. Nothing happens. She presses it again and nothing happens again. She shakes her head in disappointment, but out of the corner of her eye she sees another water cooler. She turns toward this one and notices it only has three buttons. She throws up her arms in frustration and plops herself down in the chair next to the water cooler with four buttons. All of a sudden, a door slowly swings open out of the brick wall to reveal a staircase. Hana begins to laugh in relief.

//Aiya who has been tending to the children turns and sees the staircase and excited exclaims.

Aiya: Great work Hana, I knew you could do it!

Hana chuckles: Never a doubt in my mind.

//The girls race up the stairway carry the children. As they race up the stairway Aiya calls out to Mika over the comms.

Aiya: Mika, it’s time to activate phase 2 of the escape plan, is everything still in place.

Mika: Roger that everything is still in place and ready to go. We’ll meet you at the planned rendezvous location.

//The girls reach the top and slowly open the door. It seems all clear, so they start to head for on outside door. The girls cautiously start their way outside, but Aiya begins to think it seems maybe a little to calm and easy. She calls Mika over the comms.

Aiya: Mika, something doesn’t seem right, hold off on the rendezvous until I give the all clear.

Aiya: Hana, stay her with the children, I’m going to assess the situation a little more.

//Aiya moves in alone to investigate further. Just then the Kings brother, Garo, appears with a squad of Simetra behind him.

Garo: Well, well, what a keen sense you have there, you we’re right to call off the rendezvous. I could actually use someone with your talents and intuition, seeing I’m now down a couple of team members now.

Aiya: That’s right, I remember them well, as they screamed in agony while ratting you out. It was a very touching moment. Although it was a little annoying that they kept passing out.

Garo: Hummm, Yes, I’m sure it was quite touching. Nonetheless, the invitation still stands.

Aiya: I’ll pass!

Garo: Great! What a relief, I would have been disappointed otherwise, I really prefer to tear you apart slowly limb by limb, making your agony last as long as possible. (He laughs) But I’m really not bitter one bit.

Garo: Oh, and by the way we already have you sister and the children.

//The Simetra drag out Hana, who is unconscious, and the children.

Garo: Okay, enough fun, No funny stuff or they meet with a very distasteful death. Grab her and bring her to my special chamber and throw the rest in the dungeon in the basement. I’ll deal with the other sister once I get tired of this one.

// Aiya drops her sword and falls to her knees. She is dragged off by the Simetra to the Garo’s personal torture chamber.
