Military Officer: We can give you seconds sir.
Warui: He walks away with Chena and River.
Warui: He sits on a crate in front of the shelter with them and eats.
River: He looks at his bread for a moment, then starts eating.
River: While chewing. It was like that during the first round of rations too.
Warui: He continues eating.
Chena: She says nothing, only holding her bread.
Warui: He notices Chena staying still.
Warui: Chena eat.
Chena: [Low]. I ate during the first round.
Chena: You should get this one.
Warui: No you-
Warui: You eat yours.
Chena: She watches Warui.
Warui: He goes back to eating his bread.
Chena: She looks down at her bread, slowly raises it to her mouth, and takes a small bite.
Warui: [Low, while chewing]. What do we even do in Tiria?
River: [Low], I don't know.
Warui: He swallows, stops eating, and looks ahead.
Chena: She says nothing and takes another small bite.
Chena: Looks toward the door of the emergency shelter as it opens.
Chena: Sees a woman walk out and looks at her face.
Chena: Slowly turns her head away and looks back at the ground.

Girl and Boy: They stop a few steps in front of them.
Girl: She holds her hand out to River.
Khyrie: Hi, I'm Khyrie.
River: S- Sorry.
River: I was loud.
Khyrie: Oh, no worries.
River: He looks up at her and hesitates before shaking her hand.
River: I'm River.
Khyrie: She holds her hand out to Warui.
Warui: He shakes her hand.
Warui: [Low]. Warui.
Khyrie: She holds her hand out to Chena.
Chena: She looks at it for a second, then slowly reaches out and shakes her hand.
Chena: [Low]. Chena.
Khyrie: She looks at Chena for an extra moment, then looks back at the three of them.
Khyrie: Gestures behind herself with her thumb.
Khyrie: This is Kiel.
Kiel: He slowly lifts his hand in a light wave and coughs.
Khyrie: You guys are...
Khyrie: From Callineth?
River: He looks toward Chena and Warui to his left, then slowly nods.
Chena: She takes another small bite of her bread.
Khyrie: You should go through development intake.
Warui: Why us?
Khyrie: They're processing everyone our age today.
Khyrie: You won't be in the shelter.
River: Food?
Khyrie: She looks toward the ration line, then back at them.
Khyrie: A little better than that.
Kiel: The- the process isn't hard-
Kiel: He coughs.
Kiel: Or long.
Khyrie: How old are you guys?
River: We're twelve.
Khyrie: Perfect, you just have to be tested.
Warui: He looks around at the injured refugee adults and children eating their bread rations while sitting on crates and on the ground, and at refugees arguing with soldiers.
Warui: He turns his head toward Chena.
Chena: She directs her gaze toward the emergency shelter door, lowers her bread from her mouth, then looks toward Warui and sees him watching her.
Chena: [Low]. If you want to.
Warui: It's better than nothing.
Chena: She pauses for a moment and nods.
Warui: He looks toward River.
River: He slowly nods.
Khyrie: Sounds good.
Khyrie: Follow us.
Infirmary: Warui sits with a medical examiner holding his right eye wide open with both hands and examining it closely.
Medical Examiner: The examiner lets go and backs away.
Warui: He blinks a few times.
Warui: That was sore.
Khyrie: She leans against a wall a few steps away from Warui with Kiel beside her.
Khyrie: Sorry.
Kiel: It's protocol.
Warui: He looks down at his index finger.
Warui's Index Finger: No puncture.
Warui: Didn't you poke-
Medical Examiner: The examiner reaches for a glass vial on the table to his left, then turns back toward Warui.
Medical Examiner: Pee in this and you're done.
Warui: He slowly takes the vial from the examiner.
Warui: That's the test?
Medical Examiner: The examiner nods.
Medical Examiner: He points behind himself.
Medical Examiner: Restroom is there.
Warui: He stands and walks to the bathroom.
Warui: Alright.
Infirmary: several minutes pass.
Warui: He walks out of the bathroom and hands the vial to the examiner.
Medical Examiner: The examiner places the vial under a microscope and inspects it for a few moments.
Medical Examiner: He's clear.
Warui: He looks toward Khyrie and Kiel.
Khyrie: Great.
Khyrie: Your friends passed too.
Kiel: He steps toward Warui and holds out his hand.
Kiel: Welcome.
Warui: He looks at Kiel's outstretched hand for a brief moment.
Warui: He shakes Kiel's hand.
Warui: Thanks.
Scene: Their hands clasp.
Scene: The image fades into the same shot of Kiel and Warui clasping hands, their hands now older with bruises.
Kiel: Up.
Kiel: He pulls Warui up from a slight rocky slope onto a ridge.
566
Warui: As Kiel pulls him up. Chena could've done this too.
Kiel: She's one of our best shots.
Kiel: Commander Mercer isn't wasting her on watch duty.
Warui: I wouldn't exactly call it wasting her.
Warui: He walks toward the edge of the ridge, then stops.
Ridge: Open plains stretch below them with a large circular fort in the distance.
Warui: Shit.
Kiel: Yeah, the briefing didn't do Fort Avelorn justice.
Khyrie: She climbs onto the ridge from the rocky slope behind them.
Khyrie: She carries a flintlock musket in one hand, two flintlock muskets on her back with their slings around her, and a military crossbody bag.
Khyrie: Horses are tied down.
Kiel: Alright, you guys relax
Kiel: I'll take first watch.
Khyrie: Go ahead.
Khyrie: She hands a musket to Kiel.
Warui: He reaches over to help take a musket from her back.
