Chapter 13 – Furry Fight of Fury

The second sun was already set from the sky as the group made its way into the darkening woods surrounding the town. As they continued through the woods with the fading light of the third sun dimming there was one thing the group felt uneasy about.

“There are no animals around.” States a trying to have a brave face, Gil.

Azulle could tell her brother was uneasy about something since they left, but a small sense of pride hit her seeing him try and put on a brave face.

“That is fine by me.” Says a far more at ease Kawa. “Fewer creatures to chase me.”

“Is there anything we know about this place?” Eve asked.

“Kaiku, is a small town with a population of 134 people with two about to die and four currently pregnant. In addition, their animal populations are 105 caules, 27 tundins, 17 Navem, and 15 souwes.” Ori states right before Azulle yanks her to the side.

“What the hell, Ori. They meant in general terms. You don’t need to give creepy info that clearly your god powers show you. Can’t you at least try and act human!”

“I am sorry Mr. Eito.” Azulle gives the pop idol goddess of Fate a stern look. “Oh, I mean Ms. Darkholt.”

“Just try to act human just a little bit please ok!”

“Right-o!”

While their journey has only just started Azulle couldn’t help but notice the building pain of an ulcer that was built in around where Ori was. But there was another pain she also has been dealing with. And that was the constant complaining from the slime ball named Noir that Gil carried. One that only she, Francois, and Ori could understand. Gil took it to be Noir simply conversing in a way that kinda cute in a gurgling shrill crying way.

“Hey, Eito-slut! When are we getting there! I am famished!”

Azulle accepted that the journey would mean Noir of them all with his special diet of garbage would only have the leftovers of what the others ate along the way. Azulle did note though that Francois was more than comfortable just sleeping most of the time in the bag she carried. Still, she did her best to drown out the complaint department that was Noir. Which was good as the group reached the first farm outside the town. While a good-sized farm that had the souwes, a sort of hard-shelled cow-like creature, out grazing on the grassy overgrowth. The farm seemed eerily quiet. Not even the creatures made much noise outside their comforting chewing.

“Maybe this is a sleepy town?” Cabbage states from his perch. “Like they are all asleep during the day.”

“They say that as an expression, for a picturesque place not because the people sleep all the time.” Eve states adding her own knowledge on things.

Gil looks about and directs the party to a clearing on the opposing side of the farmhouse along the road. “We should set up camp here. If the demon lord’s forces are in town it would be better to investigate in a group and have the rest of us held back in case the first group needs help. Cat man your stay behind.”

“It’s Cabbage! But I am going.”

“As our only healer, I say no you don’t. Mom may have treated your legs. They still need time to heal right or you could break them again. And I don’t want to waste what magic I have healing your stupidity again!” Azulle sternly states to the still bandaged swordsman.

“Very well my lovely little servant girl. I will mind the camp for you.”

“Um, I think it might be best I stay too.” The Mouselike voice of Eve. “My magic will likely only destroy part of the town that we are trying to save.”

Azulle thinks back at the mess the group left the restaurant district back home thanks to Eve’s magic and she agreed but saw her brother get a bit disappointed. “Very well, the scouting party will be me, Ori, Kawa, and Gil,” Azulle states trying to cut the growing tensions. She also places her bag down so that Francois would stay with the two staying behind. “Fran, I need you to help out in setting up camp for us.”

Francois yawns and rolls over waving a slime appendage in a way to state her agreement to hold things. Down while Cabbage begins to laugh at the idea that the white slime can do anything to help them. “Don’t worry my sexy servant I will guard your pet.” Francois turns and looks at the boastful pretty boy.

“Fuck! why are the pretty one so dumb, Eito.” Ori and Azulle chuckle at the slimes words that only the two could understand.

“If you two ladies are done laughing, I would like to get to town before all our light is gone.”

While the small group gathered and moved out. Not too far away another small group gathered for a different reason. A small group of goblins have gathered and are dealing with a serious matter for their group.

“But I had to deal with him for the last three nights.”

“But Youze lost the game Crog!” States the pointiest-nosed goblin.

“Only Cuzz you be cheating Duage!” Replies the bug-eyed one.

“Agreed, so it should be Farage's turn!” States the tallest one with the fewest teeth.

“Not agree, I won a game of flaucle you two lose. I say Crog, has to take him!”

“Well, one of you has to do it. Alabaster is going no matter what and one of you has to be his little bitch and clean up after his meal.” States the one called Duage, who was forcefully pushing the punishment onto his two teammates.

“Why we got to be stuck with a werewolf anyways! All they do is hunt and make messes with their kills! I hate to keep cleaning up after him.” Add Crog!

“Because Lust demands it of us. I just wish he didn’t make such a mess of a town. Now people are harder to take from!” Fargge states feeling he made a great point at the vacant streets at the fading of day. A point that is only added to with the growl and howling from the building behind the goblins. “Alabaster is awake! Hurry, Crog you deal with him! He like you!”

“But I always do it for him!”

The sound of bashing is coming from the building now. Causing the group to start to panic as the continued pounding sound is joined with the sound of cracking.

“Hurry Crog, we all agree you deal with him!”

The noise of the banging suddenly halts when a loud crack is heard and the large beast form of a hybrid wolf and man is loosed on town.

“Oh no, we all fucked now.”

“It’s Crog’s fault!”

“No, Me not to blame!”

“You one in charge of him tonight!”

“NO!”

Meanwhile, as the last light finally faded as the scouting group finally made it to the town. The few buildings that had lights on suddenly dosed or shaded them. Making the town seem abandoned. With the exception of smoke from the chimneys informing them that someone still called this place home. Off in the distance, a crashing of split wood and a howl of a wolf has Kawa leaping in the trees and on rooftops.

“Kawa stick together!” Quietly shouts Gil.

“I am getting a better view, and trying to stay out of the way of that wolf.” Kawa states changing form to that of a bulgingly muscle-bound ninja and with it almost fades out of the view of their teammates.

“That one is gone!” Ori states.

“Yeah, Kawa does that time to time. You get used to it.” Azulle states pulling out a broom she had strapped to her back as another howl this time one closer reaches their ears.

Gil responds by grabbing his small crossbow and reading his sword with his free hand, while Ori grabs her make-shift spear that Cabbage carved while the group moved through the forest earlier. As the sound of rustling draws the trio’s attention to some bushes nearby. Gil takes no time in unleashing a bolt at the bushes and a loud yelp and leaping from a goblin coming running out with a bolt in its backside. The goblin stares at Gil who readies his blade.

“Stupid Humans.” The goblin pulls out the bolt and tosses it to the ground. “You humans are just what he likes the most. And girls taste the best to Alabaster!”

“Alabaster?” Azulle questions.

“He is a werewolf that the general brought here. But he is crazy and when night hits he likes to hunt… mostly for human girls!” the goblin states. Meanwhile, two more goblins come out to join him and one stops.

“Dauge! You not know who these humans be!”

“They humans they all look alike!” the goblin Dauge states.

“They are the heroes!” Fargge states. “Me remember the general tell me to be on the lookout for a maid girl with a broom and a blond boy smelling of soap!”

“Waaah! But I just warned them of Alabaster!”

“You idiot Dauge! You as bad as Crog!”

Crog, laughs but is quickly smacked in the face by Azulle. “So, what you three are saying is. You let loose a werewolf under the orders of a general.”

The standing two goblins pull out weapons of their own. While the one Azulle hit grabs onto the broom and in turn, Azulle flips him in the air. But while there he grabs and throws two knives at Azulle. She is able to stop one in the broom handle. The second blade however meets its mark cutting a chunk out of her shoulder.

Ori charges and misses the goblin closest to her, and she takes a hit to the side of her hip from a small club, knocking her sideways and into the back of Gil. This threw a swing of Gil’s sword swing at the third goblin off and left his open to an attack from the goblin’s short sword, but it catches across his armor and bounces the blade strike away.

Suddenly one of the goblins goes down as it's peppered with shuriken from the form of Kawa fading into light then back into shadow. But in that brief moment, the other two goblins turn and focus towards the direction Kawa fled.

Azulle and Gil try to strike at the goblins but the near howl and growl from the werewolf cause Azulle to stop in her movements. Gil proceeds and strikes with the hilt of his blade to knock the goblin he chased in the back of the head sending it crashing to the ground unconscious.

The final Goblin being the one identified as Crog, began to run but is suddenly snatched and his body torn about in the powerful jaws of the large black-furred wolf, with striking green eyes. He flops about the goblin as a dog playing with a ragdoll.

“Gah! Please stop Alabaster!” Crog screams!

“Alabaster? But it's black.” Questions Ori whom the wolf first notices and what looks to be a grin of white and red teeth shine looking at the idol singing goddess and then he also notices Azulle who is frozen in facing the large beast of a creature. The werewolf walks slowly and drops the barely alive goblin at the feet of the girls.

“No, bad Alabaster. These girls are our enemies!” Alabaster looks puzzled and turns his head but wags his tail and pants trying to look cute despite having nearly torn the goblin apart moments ago.

“I like girls!” pants the high pitch voice of the werewolf. Which causes Gil and somewhere in the shadows Kawa to laugh at the voice unbefitting a beastly creature. The wolf turns and grows at Gil but sniffs the air and begins to face the shadows which respond in kind with a… “I hate this stupid curse!” Kawa jumps out of the shadows and begins to run across the rooftops of the small town. And the wolf follows. Azulle tries to take the moment to dash and get on the creatures back trying to choke it out with her broom. But the beast bursts in speed thrust forward and she finds it hard to do anything but hold on as the beast drags her while it chases the ninja.

Kawa tries to shake the wolf of their scent, but with no luck. While Azulle is finding a challenge of strength just to hold on. “Pant, pant, pant. Hey, my lovely maid girl. I like riding girls like you, not the other way around. You’re slowing me down from catching the wonderful smell.”

Azulle sides a bit to the side as the beast turned sharply but maintains her grip. “Not doing, I won’t let you keep killing the girls of this town!” She shouts and tries to dodge a low branch of a tree the beast ran under again to try and knock her off his back.

“Eat? I don’t eat girls. I like girls. Even better when they wear sexy outfits like pop idols, sexy nurses, schoolgirls, man I just love to be owned by such a girl. You as well would be great, but then maids are more servants and less dom.” The wolf's words shock, embarrass and tick off Azulle because she is looked on as less dominating than Ori, a goddess that would take the better part of a year to decide which part of a meal to eat first. No, this wolf’s tastes in women brought the image of gimp on a dominatrix’s leash. And despite the black fur covering the beast, she felt just the thought was causing the wolf to blush and get all hot and bothered. But one thing struck her mind as she tried to return to her focus of holding on.

“Wait why do you know what all those outfits are?” The idea was vague in her mind. While in her sixteen years on this world she has seen plenty of maids, and with Ori being an idol singer, or the queen’s very dominating habits all burned in her image. She never thought she would see a school girls’ outfit in this world. But then she and Gil were sheltered so they could exist in some far-off school. But her mother was a doctor and to her knowledge, there were only wet nurses around and non-dressed in a way that the former male mobster would call as sexy.

“Who doesn’t. And man do they look good. I would likely be unable to control myself if a girl like you showed up in a tight leather outfit instead of that fancy maid girls’ uniform.” The wolf suddenly bucks and Azulle finally falls off. She looks around seeing the wolf dash off faster to the point it starts to bounce off the walls in hopes to get enough height to snap at Kawa. She looks at herself and notes that the sudden fall has torn about her dress and the skin along her legs and left arm have ripped and torn open from the sheer force of motion coming to a stop. She counts her blessings that she didn’t hit anything because she would likely join Cabbage on the injured list at best. But this couldn’t stop her… No, it wouldn’t stop her. While the threat seemed to not be as bad for the town’s girls, she couldn’t help but wonder what the beast did eat. And worse who the general that the goblins and werewolf served. Feeling Kawa could likely stay free from the beast for now she forced herself on her feet and dashed to rejoin her brother and Ori from where she believed she last left them. When she returned all, she could see were the goblins and Ori.

“Ah, you returned, M…Mrs. Darkholt.” Ori states as she continues to tie up the one goblin. While a cheaply made bandaging job was done on the other, and Azulle looked puzzled.

“Where is Gil and why did you bandage the goblin?”

“He did that himself. But he promised he won't fight us anymore.”

“And you trusted him!”

“Well, he promised and as a goddess, I can tell he….”

“What did I tell you about the goddess talk!” The thought of Ori being dominating the wolf demanding for him to call her goddess hits her brain and makes her blush. “And don’t put those thoughts in my head! I am man okay!”

Ori looks puzzled at her supernatural ward. “What was all that about?”

“She likely had become aware of Alabaster’s tastes in women.” The goblin snaps back further embarrassing Azulle. She tries to pout and get frustrated but her actions stop as the goblin smiles and begin to laugh. Which turns Azulles embarrassment into a bit of worry.

“What is so funny, goblin!”

“Alabaster isn’t the only threat around for you four girlie. And my friends are already gathering to capture you all. Of course, you girls will be left to entertain as our slaves.”

Azulle begins to grasp her broom and swing to hit the injured goblin but an arrow lands between the two causing Azulle to take a step back. Ori also takes a quick step to grab her spear but with the goblins laughing seeming to find a course of many others the two girls could tell they were surrounded as a collection of over a dozen other goblins arrive and along with them, one human-sized goblin caused Azulle to have a fear that this creature was not the same as the others and worse it had a talisman on it that was what she could only guess was a crude version of the tablets that she and her party also had. But what she didn’t notice of the creature was its clearly false but stylishly combed hairpiece that was a prominent Pompadour. But there was no avoiding when the creature talked. “Well, Well, what do we have here but a couple of pretty ladies out on their own. At ease pretty mama. We got you surrounded and we prefer not to harm any ladies we could use to tame the general's pet werewolf.”

“Look I am getting really tired of you goblins trying to hook me up with big, dark, and hairy.” Azulle grips her broom tighter. But a quick glance at Ori, she could tell that the goddess was less steady with a weapon leaving Azulle to handle the most alone. And she wondered where Gil ran off to. Did he go off to help Kawa, or did he go back to camp with Eve, the swordsman, and the slimes… But wait only Fran stayed behind so then…

Suddenly a goblin is shot and goes down being sniped from the far right of the group. This caused the group to look away and left an opening for Azulle to dash in and slam three goblins in a row with an unexpected strike. But her swing would halt fast from the fancy goblin man grabbing Azulles broom with a whip. But not a whip. No this was more of a wired microphone not attached to anything. While Azulle should be shocked she already knew that from time-to-time items of her world end up in junk piles that the slimes lived in. So, she figured at some time this goblin man must have found such a piece. He bounces the broom back and starts to swing his microphone about through twirls and lands a series of blows against Azulle’s broom. Another shot lets out and a second goblin drops this time to her left. She could tell Gil was using Noir’s shadow magic to help hide the two and snipe at the goblins from the outside.

Ori finds herself surrounded by four goblins and swings her spear about but with one strong swing from one of the goblins her spear snaps and the girl finds herself unarmed. “Use your magic, Ori!” Azulle shouts.

“Um, Well… EEEK..” Azulle could see the goblins clawing to grab Ori who is confused with trying to figure out what spell to use. Ori is able to kick off one goblin while another grabs the leg she is standing on. But while she is distracted but Ori’s problems, Azulle gets struck several more times from the microphone that the goblin man was swinging about like a whip-like flail. Without even focused she finds that the wire of the microphone had already wrapped around her right arm and it's yanked strongly sending Azulle flying towards the man and three of his goblin allies. One goblin that looks clearly drunk is blushing at the chance to grab onto Azulle’s breasts as she falls towards him. While the two other more sober ones begin to strike at her with a dagger and club. The dagger cuts deep into her thigh and she clenches her teeth. But the heavy smack of the club to the back made her for once in ten years of wearing it glad that the cursed steel corset was there to guard her against that kind of blow. Now on the ground after a quick head but to knock the drunk goblin off her chest. She yanks back on the microphone in a tug of war against the goblin man. But she knew all too well that she was leaving herself open to attacks. Then suddenly she hears a scream from Ori... No not a scream per se. This was something different. It was a song. There were no words but despite the clawing of goblins at Ori’s sides, she was calming them and the fight in them. She was fighting back with the song.

“Awe hell no. I am not going to be showing up on this stage by some would-be pop singer.” The goblin man states loosening her end and yanking back the head of the microphone to his hand and he begins to gyrate his hips “Now listen up you stinking gobbies, I need no introduction but for those new cats and kittens out there listen up! I am the great and wonderful, Ranji Kashu!” Suddenly out of nowhere music starts up and stage lights appear from thin air all focused on the strange goblin man singer. And before long the man beings his songs like a mix of lounge singing and boy band. “So you think you can out sing me, baby! No got nothing like me, baby! Cause we got you all where we want you. You ain’t got no way to be free. Just give up and bow before me …”

Azulle seeing a moment's chance to strike she goes to move her weapon to attack the goblins at her sides but finds she is unable to get her body to move.

“You can’t move, I won’t let you. I have you where demand you! In my song's spell I will you fall down, you will see. You will serve Me.” The goblin man smirks glaring at Azulle who grits her teeth but finds it too hard to move against the motions that the man who has now moved forward and started to move her about like he had magical invisible strings. Azulle glances to see the spotlights have also brought Gil and Noir’s location out and a handful of goblins head to strike him, as he too seems unable to move due to the spell. But a sudden sound tells her that one of her allies isn’t overtaken. As Ori begins to fight back in her own song.

“Well, isn’t that nice that you think you are free to do what you want to. But here I stand to defy you. And with my voice, I break my friends free. I will never bow to thee.” Ori is suddenly blasted with the magical stage lights and her moves while stiff seems to be of her own.

“So, you got some pipes and you can move that is nice. But my dear, I haven’t even begun to fight!” The goblin man yanks a dagger from one of the goblins and dances about till he spins and throws a dagger at Ori but she succeeds to dodge with a thrust of her body two twirls in a dance step. “My, My, MY why don’t we see you got some moves too, but it's still ten against just you. Oh, and another two.” The goblin man snaps his fingers and Azulle and Gil both point their weapons and charge Ori. “You may stand but not your friends. There will tend to break in the end, and with no one to help you fight! Then you, my girl, will now die.”

Gil thrusts his blade and Ori tries to dodge but she is still stuck deep in the side of her gut. And the sudden halt from the shock of pain leaves her open from Azulle’s attack with the broom which sends her flying into a tree that smashes and splinters from the sheer impact. Ori coughs a bit of blood and for the first time in eons, the goddess feels something she hadn’t. Fear for her life. The goblin man clearly had more experience even though the words of the song the two fought with both seemed amateurish in nature, his power seemed greater. In the distance, though she heard a note. And something deep inside the goddess of fate sent a flash of light before her eyes. And for one brief moment, she saw where the threads of fate each led with all of the actions. Time slowed to a halt and she read about the multitude of options that normally caused her to hold back on her actions so often… but now this was a different matter. For now, her own survival was at play. And in that brief moment, Ori made a decision.

“This looks bad I do see. It sure looks like you have me. But you won't win that I believe to be. For I can foresee! The threads of fate bend to my will and I will set my friends free.”

“You still think you have a chance my girl. Fate is a myth of this world. I have it all and will command your friends to now twirl!” Gil and Azulle do just as the goblin man commands her. “You have no allies, no friends, this clearly is your end. So, tell me what makes you so sure I will face such a fated defeat!”

“Allot of fur and several Teeth!” Ori smiles and drops to the ground as Kawa leaps off her head and again of the goblin man’s head as the giant wolf comes charging at full speed slamming into the goblin man sending him flying but causing him to drop his weapon upon the ground.

“Sorry About that!” Kawa shouts leaping back onto the buildings with the wolf stops to shake its head from the powerful blow before trying to regain its thoughts as to where Kawa went off to. As the wolf looks about it looks and sees the badly hurt Ori and Azulle. And he snaps back and begins to growl at his goblin allies.

“You all goblins! Our agreement was to leave the women of this town alone!”

“Crap Alabaster is loose!”

“We can take him if we all gang up on him!”

“But what of Kashu!”

“He will be punished by the general! If we let Alabaster go free. General Lust will skin us alive!”

Gil smiles and he seems to have new vigor now that the magic has faded from his mind. “So our target general is Lust.”

“Stay out of this man! Least you want to be my dinner over some goblins!” Alabaster growls. “Lady Lust is a wonderful creature! I am proud to be under her heels.”

“Ugh, please stop!” Azulle states shakily getting on her feet.

“Azu, heal our bard. The wolf and I will deal with the remaining goblins. I will even cook them for you wolfy.”

“Don’t try to bribe me, you have nothing I want, man! I only bow to the beauty of women.”

“Fine if that is what you want, I will order my sister to try on several outfits I have for you!”

“That won't work on me.” The wolf growls but his wagging tail states otherwise.

“Hey don’t go selling me off to some wolf!” Azulle snaps back as she brings out her rags and wipes away at Ori’s wound in her gut. She unknowingly is distracted however enough that she pushes down hard causing Ori to flail about in pain.

The goblins look in fear and decide it's better to live and gather reinforcements and face Lust’s punishment over facing a hungry werewolf and well-armed man labeled hero. As they flee the wolf turns to look at Azulle and Ori who are looking better now that some magic has closed the wounds the girls have.

Gil looks about and shouts. “Hey, Kawa you near!”

Suddenly Kawa appears on a rooftop but is unwilling to come closer as the wolfman looks up wagging his tail. “It’s the good smelling thing!”

“Yeah, well stay away monster!” Kawa responded, “I don’t want to be your next meal!”

“But you smell soo tasty!”

“Calm down you two. Did you see where the goblins went?”

“Looks like towards the mountains!”

“Then we should go back to camp. I don’t think the town will have any more threats this night from them… and I don’t think their pet will be joining them anytime soon.”

“I am not a pet!” Alabaster growls.

Azulle sighs and “Moves forward. Look I know you follow this general Lust. But you don’t seem like a bad dog…”

“Not a dog either!” He growls again.

“A wolf I am sorry. But if you would like to join us for some food and perhaps, we can talk about an agreement between our group and you. Deal.” Deep in her mind, Azulle regrets her motion but she reaches out bending over showing more of her chest than she normally cares to the beast to tame him. And the quick wagging of his tail and snort gets her to tell that she succeeded in calming any current hostilities between the group and Alabaster. As she smiles that the current battle was done, the look at a nearby home just slightly showing a glint of light from the town’s person withing still hiding away tells her that come morning the fight will move on to continue to restore the town back to normal.

“You can't be serious, Zel! The slimes are bad enough but now a werewolf!” shouts Kawa from their perch.

“He won’t eat you if you change to look female!”

“I am not a plaything!” Kawa looks down and sees Alabaster drooling and wagging his tail staring at the ninja. “Or a damn chew toy! Guess I am sleeping in a tree tonight!”

“Fine, do what you can. And Azu, you and Ori keep that wolf in line and keep him from Kawa or even Eve okay.”

“Fine.” The two ladies say.

The night's fight wore most including Alabaster down by the time they made it to camp. Besides the panic of the animals of the nearby barn, and the parties Navem taking its furthest post from where Cabbage tied it from the wolf. The wolf behaved with the two women laying with the giant ball of black fur. And when the light of day hit the girls found themselves laying deep in the arms of a pale muscle-bound man with long silver hair. Causing both girls to panic. And seeing him holding the two in his statuesque naked glory. Azulle quickly buries her face in an oddly awake Francois who has one thing to say. “Damn now that is one hell of hottie boyfriend you have Eito!”
