Chapter 12

Day 3 is here, nothing happened during the night.
The creatures are getting more cautious, we don't sense the people that were following us either.
They went back or they are good enough to hide from my senses, not that I think my senses are that good so far.
Walking deeper in and we finally encounter a pack, 8 dire wolves.
Twice what we currently have but none particulary bigger or special among them.
That makes it doable to beat them without taking big risks.
The elf archer gets up and starts aiming while on top of me, her arrow suddenly glows in a red light, mana?
Mana is gathering there and it glows bigger, she shoots, the arrow is a like a fireball and pierces the dire wolf's front and leaves a big hole in it.
The more she puts in the bigger the effect but this was enough to kill 1 dire wolf.
The other wolves are shocked but rogue went around stealthily and is there is prevent them from spreading out and leaving.

Elf quickly picks another arrow and does the same thing, it only takes a few seconds for her to put in the mana but that's fast enough to deal with the rest.
Another one goes down as rogue throws her knives at the wolves legs.
5 down and the rest manage to run away but they are still in firing distance, another arrow shoots off and misses? I go after them.
The elf has a hard time maintaining her balance standing so she kneels down and shoots again, another miss.
She has a hard time hitting from afar, another shot and she finally she hits one now 2 to go.
As we are going after them another set of dire wolves are seen, only 3 of them.
They are standing still so this is our chance, I go faster and surpise them, I cut one in the neck and the elf hits another.
The other I pierce through and I continue after the other wolves, more and more misses but eventually they hit and it's over.
She has real aiming issues at long range, as I think that I notice her hood is still on and she can barely see.
Ah, she is sensitive to the sunlight since she is an albino, wouldn't it be better to go at night then? but the other 2 can't be as helpful then so it's net negative that way.
If we do go at night we need to prepare beforehand.
The others catch up after a while and we grab all the wolves, 11 in this haul for 15 in total.
'that was wild, but that's still not enough since we came all the way here, I think around 10 more will do it' says the rogue as sends the wolves into her dimensional bag.
'good work, you're tired right, let's take a break for now' says the healer as she gives the elf some water.
'thank you' the elf gulfs it down and hops back on me much to the healer's chagrin.
We stay put for a while and then head on again, we keep going deeper into the mountain.

As we are walking we see a cave with decorations, goblins?
You wouldn't find this by searching but by luck, we decide to hide and observe.
Dawn falls and we see the goblins return, this was their area afterall.
A big group arrives with a dead deer, seems they are not going out at night, must be because night is too dangerous for this group.
This means they aren't that numberous or strong yet, we should be able to take them right?
I look to the girls and they get what I want to convey.
They start discussing and in the end decide to attack is the best option, usually they would not do it but they have me now.
I will be the main assault as they follow behind me, elf gets off of me and the healer looks like she wants on but is stopped.
More goblins arrive, 5 of them, we take them out quickly.
Rogue throw her knives and and archer lands a shot, they are easily defeated since they are basic goblins after all.
We head into the cave and a trap activated, posion darts.
They hit my body but do nothing, it's too hard for crude darts like this to work.
Suddenly we hear goblins coming, they were alerted by the trap going off and came.
I quickly slaughter them with no problem and head further.

Everything is going smoothly, goblins fall from above wih spears but they break on contact as I slice them all up.

The goblin remains are everywhere, rogue collects their corpses too even though it's not needed, just their ears or finger would do.
At the end of the cave there's a big room, there we see bigger goblins.
Like the size of a human adult, 3 of them.
They were eating the deer that was brought in, they have armor and also better knives.
They attack but I use my web, they are stuck and I hastily cut each one of them in half.
No big deal huh, that's the difference in racial power for you.
'it seems it's over, I can't sense anything else here' says the elf.
She had sensing skills? who knew.

We look over the are and there is no one here being held hostage or anything like that.
There are some food storages though so we take that.
'this is a nice cave, want to stay here for tonight?' says the healer.
'hah, I knew you were gonna say that, sure it sounds good but what about the incoming goblins who might not have arrived yet?' says the rogue in retort.
'it should be fine, we can just plug up the entrance with tara-kun's web.'
'whatever, I'm too tired, let's just rest while we can, you can keep watch right spider?'

'he's not spider, he has a name'
'you are so annoying' says the rogue as she goes to lay down.
'can you do it tara? we don't want to force you'
I nod and go seal the entrance.
Meanhile the girls begin cooking the goblin's food.
Are they sure that's safe?
