Chapter 13

As the hours go by more goblins did arrive, I felt them through the webs as they tried to cut them down.
Only 2 groups arrived and they were cut down without issues, that might be the end of their numbers.
Middle of the night and there's a sudden thunder sound, it's going to rain.
As the morning sunrise should come up there is nothing but rain, we have no choice but to stay here.
This turned out to be exactly what we need for shelter.
Healer's smug face pisses off rogue as she goes back to sleep.

Nothing to do as we wait it out so I start making more spider threads, this is a magic world so should be able to control it right?
It's hard though and now there's lot of string here.
'these are nice silk webs, sticky but nice' says the healer who is touching the pile carefully.
'we can sell those too, they should fetch a nice amount' says the rogue while laying down.
'I guess, as long as you're ok with it tara'
I don't see what's the issue since it would just go to waste otherwise, I raise my leg claw thing at her as a sort of handshake or bump sign.
Healer smiles and gently grabs it with both hands, 'you are kind, I wonder why you were born into this form when you are so human like in understanding.'
I wondered that too but what is else can be said other than it just happened? I'm sure it wasn't intentional and someone was out to target me.
'I'm still not convinced' the rogue speaks out.
'he is smart but is that all? I'm sure smart monsters exist too'
Healer is quiet and keeps holding my leg, 'that's true but I want to believe he's good, good monsters also exist.'
Rogue keeps quiet now and the elf has no opinion, she seems to be neutral or on a case by case basis.
I go in closer and rest my face against hers, kind of like a dog would.
She hugs me, it's nice, I would cry if I were in my human body but I can feel the emotions coming through me.
People do care even if I am like this.
We stay like this for a while and then I keep focusing on my webs.

Everyone is quiet and waiting for the rain to end.
As that is happening I manage to control the web shooting, I no longer have to turn and face the target now to aim.
Healer starts clapping and says congratulations, elf joins her too but not with any emotion.
'that will be helpfull atleast' says the rogue still resting with her arms rolled up.
'you are so negative, I know, how about making this cave our secret base? wouldn't that be fun?'
'hah? we won't come here that often and it will obviously be occupied by a bear or something.'
Healer sighs and pouts as we are back to waiting it out.
Eventually the rain stops but it's already late, the sun will only be out for a few more hours now.
They decide to check the surrounding area and then come back to spend the night here since it's safer.

'everything is clear' says the rogue then the rest say the same.
Nothing in the immediate area after the rain.
The healer starts brushing her long hair and the rest just tinker around with their weapons.
'you 2 should grow out your hair too, atleast to a mid lenght size'
'you know we can't do that, it gets in the way of fighting and it's more noticable to people'
'a woman with long hair won't be that noticable, you worry too much' says the healer as she really combs her hair out.
'we're on a quest and here you are brushing your hair that much'
'cleanliness is important too, right tara?'
I don't want to get involved and it's not like I need any of that, my body isn't the hairy type so it really doesn't get that dirty and it's easy to wash down.
The time passes like this and the next morning we head out again.

Healer jumps on me again as we head deeper in, the actual mountain itself is still further away.
It's huge as well,  the peak is even surrounded by clouds, I have never been there but I would definitely say it is taller than mount everest.
Atleast twice as big but in this world that might not be impressive, who knows how big the largest ones are.
