Chapter 14

'we should be reaching some bigger dire wolf packs soon, they don't live at the deepests or dangerous places here since they aren't an apex predator' says the rogue as she surveys the area from a tree.
'found them, a pack of.. 37 by my count near a rocky area, it's very big group and I can see 3 strong ones, they are bigger than the rest and the pack leader is even bigger than them.'
She comes down and we go back a bit to talk.
'are we fighting them? the odds don't seem good, the leader is even bigger than the spider here.'
'tara' says the healer.
'what?'
'his name is tara.'
'are you serious right now?'
Healer won't speak to her now so rogue gives in and says fine.
'it's bigger than tara, we can't take them all on like this.'
'I agree, this is way above our quest as well, we might not even be awarded for it' says the elf.'

'even without a direct quest issue we can still trade the top wolf for cash, they won't reject quality goods like that wolf' says the rogue.
'then we just target the leader then run back? a surprise attack will work but we will be dead if we can't kill the head quickly.'
'we can head back and come back? but they will be gone by then and who knows if we will find them again' says the healer.
As they discuss what they will do I step in, I motion that I will fight the wolf.
I draw on the ground that I will spray them with some webs then fight the leader head on.
The girls don't agree.
'that's too dangerous, you won't intimidate the stronger wolves and none of us are srong enough to provide support with those numbers' says the elf as she looks at the healer.
'I have to agree, I can't let you go alone like that, if only the leader was separated for a bit.'
'well, I can make a big magic explosion, I don't know if that would be enough though' says the elf.
'really?'
'only one though and it won't work after that since they will be expecting it.'
'that will work but then tara will need to head in there.'
'the area will be in dust from the explosion so he should be able to head in and out fast, that's only enough for an all out exchange fight and then head back'
'but that's'
I nod and agree, I pat the healer on the back and say it's okay, I have to do this to move onwards.

We don't have the luxury of slowly taking our time getting stronger over the years.
I push the elf onward and we get started.

She begins concentrating an immense amount of mana into her bow, it's glowing red again and more fiercely this time.
Enough so that I can feel the heat from it, her specialty is fire? or can she only cast fire.
Not like I can ask since I can't talk but she continues her move and it looks and feels powerful.
'that's alot of mana, not even A rank adventurers could withstand this blow' says the rogue as she steps back.
'it's powerful but it will never hit someone unless they are restrained or they a huge creature' says the healer who also backs away.
After about half a minute she shoots it, it travels like a mini meteor and the wolves react, they quickly get out of the way as the flaming arrow appears.
It lands right in the middle of the pack and then explodes on contact with the ground.
Fire, dust and smoke are everywhere as the area is engulfed in it.
I dash forward into that aftermath, going to where I last saw the dire wolf leader.
Only takes 10 seconds as I reach where he should be and I see him, even through all this my vision can still make out the views.
He notices me and and begins charging as well, this is it all or nothing.
I don't have any skills to activate except just going thrusting head on so I do that.
My cannibal title gives me the courage or should I say blind courage like a berserker.
We reach each other and I jump forwards and thurst my right claw at the dire wolf's face.
He manages to dodge but it's not enough, I pierce his right shoulder as he then bites my back spider end.
It goes straight through as I also lose 2 legs.
AAAAA IT HURTS

I bite his neck and inject poison, as much as I can.
My claw is still in him so I have a good position to bite, the wolf screams and bites me again.
 I move my body to dodge but I still get bit, my entire right spider end is gone and all the right legs except the one lodged in him.
Left claw and I pierce him again while still injecting poison.
He's losing strenght so I let my claws go and then begin slashing wildly, they connect but it's not enough.
I bite again but this time just a normal bite since my poison is out for now.
The leader falls and I begin eating him right there, I am enraged like I have lost my mind.
It's over and my mind starts coming back, the wolf is just now a head, I ate the rest.
I am shocked but I need to go since the epxlosion is clearing, I web the head and start running.
Half my lower body is gone so it's tough my I manage since I have my front legs still.
The girls see me and are shocked too but we need to run, we go on and the wolves don't chase us.
They are searching for their leader but he's gone.
