Chapter 12

The girl gasped for air suddenly and lost her footing.

<<Thud>>

She managed to land on one knee, and thus evaded her fall. Without warning, the girl gasped desperately for air while clutching her chest.

“Ah…ahh…” - The girl looked to the ground while panting. Cold sweat came running from her the back of her neck.

“…ey…”

Suddenly, she heard a rough voice calling out to her. Seems he had been calling her for a long time.

Shocked, the girl turned around.

The cat was shifting his tail from side to side. He looked upset.

“Why, look who it is! Sleeping beauty is back!” - As usual, the sarcasm in his voice ringed in her ears.

The girl looked around the room, confused.

Yes.

It was just her room. The same as always.

“Since when?” - She thought to herself.

“Does it matter?” - said the cat.

The girl looked at the cat perplexed.

Could he read minds too?

“Who knows?” - replied the cat while stretching. “That or I’m way smarter than you.”

The girl got a bit upset at his remark.

“Meow” - She said while turning back to the mirror. Despite her older appearance, her mind was still a kid's.

The cat laughed loudly.

“Why, indeed. I’m just a cat.”
