Chapter 4:

Part 4

My Waifu, Here Is My Love Poem

Both sides stood and stared at each other for what felt like hours;

Until you grabbed me by the shoulders and shook;

“Why would you come,” you shouted, “You don’t have powers!”

I explained: “I have loved you ever since you emerged from that book,

And I would not be able to stand it, if you were quelled.

You see, my marriage proposal was not mere gobbledygook.”

You moved your lips together tightly as if they had been weld,

The opponents, however, would not wait for a response.

They opened fire, and all the while they yelled.

Lalage, you flew into the sky with anything but nonchalance,

Lighting on fire within the blue sky, you were more beautiful than flowers.

I expect none could depict it, not even the masters in the renaissance.

Down you went, into the enemies group. A thrust and three fell.

A swing and another four knocked out, you were on a roll.

Several more strikes, and down went the personnel.

The leader, the only one left, no longer able to reach his goal.

His face bulging veins and shaded beat red.

He pulled his weapon up and plotted to avenge his patrol.

“Stop, stop, stop,” a shout came and I turned my head.

A newcomer joined the fray. Covered with a lab coat,

She grabbed the leader by the ear and said:

“See if she will come back for a test, isn’t that what I wrote?”

“But dear,” the leader said, “this is the easiest way to compel.”

For a moment, I thought she wanted to wring his throat.

The lady let out a sigh and turned our way.

“I’m sorry, he took things a little too far.”

I wanted to complain, but you replied: “That’s okay.”

It was explained that they heard rumors and wanted to study something bizarre.

You agreed, though I protested, and off you went.

Before you left, I must say, you gave me a hug and smiled brighter than a star.

“What—” I stammered as I tried to think of what the hug meant.

You said: “A thanks for coming to my aid when they attacked,”

I replied: “The amount I assisted was a total of zero percent.”

You laughed some more, one that could fill what I lacked.

Simply being with you warmed me more than a sun ray.

You said: “I’ll be back soon, consider it a pact.”
